Triple-Fin Seals Around the Perimeter Snap-on triple-fin seals run the full perimeter of the cover, hinge caps close the joints between panels and hard polymer rubber corners fill the spots where water usually finds a way in. Together they keep rain and road spray off your cargo.
Twist and Lift, One Hand The Secure Rotary Release system is what sets the ALX apart from the Solid Fold 2.0. Lower the tailgate, twist the release and lift the panel with one hand. Fold the cover back down and it latches itself against the bed rails.
Inch-Thick Panels, 600 lb Cover Rating Each panel is a full inch of EnduraShield TPO, which resists dents, scratches and UV fading. The panels ride on an aircraft-grade aluminum frame with a textured EnduraCoat finish, and the cover supports up to 600 lb of evenly distributed weight.
Two Thirds Open, Strapped Down Dual-pivot MaxHinges let the panels fold toward the cab, leaving roughly two thirds of the bed clear for taller cargo. Integrated buckle straps hold the folded stack in place so you can drive with the cover open, once both buckles are fastened.
Off the Truck in Seconds Tool-free Jaw-Grip clamps hold the front of the cover to the bed rails. When a load needs the whole bed, release the clamps and lift the cover off without reaching for a tool. Extang puts the whole job at a matter of seconds.

Set the cover on the bed, fasten the tool-free Jaw-Grip clamps to the front bed rails and bolt the rotary latch strikers in place at the rear. Extang will repair or replace the part at its own option. Damage from accidents, misuse, improper installation, modification or normal wear is not covered, nor is interference with other accessories or trailers. Driving with the panels unsecured, opening the cover with snow or ice on it, letting cargo press against the panels, cleaning with silicone conditioners or towing the truck from the rear will all void it.

What is the difference between the Solid Fold ALX and the Solid Fold 2.0?
The panels, frame and hinges carry over from the Solid Fold 2.0, so the two covers look alike on the truck. The ALX adds Extang's Secure Rotary Release Latching System: drop the tailgate, twist the release and lift with one hand. Closing is automatic. Fold the cover flat against the bed rails and it latches itself without a separate step.
How much bed access do I get and can I drive with it open?
Folded toward the cab the cover leaves about two thirds of the bed open. Yes, you can drive that way. Integrated buckle straps hold the folded panels together. Extang's warranty terms require both buckles to be fastened before the truck moves. For a load that needs the full bed, the cover lifts off without tools.
Do I need a RamBox or Deck Rail System version?
For some trucks the Solid Fold ALX comes in two versions. Beds fitted with RamBox and the silver cargo rails take a different part from beds without it. The same applies to beds with or without a factory Deck Rail System. Select your exact truck and bed above and the fitment options will show which one applies to you.
Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?
Extang designed it to keep moisture out from any angle. Snap-on triple-fin seals run around the perimeter, hinge caps seal the panel joints and hard polymer rubber corners fill the corner gaps, which is how the cover keeps cargo clean and dry in wet weather. Clear snow and ice off the top before opening. Folding the panels with debris on them voids the warranty.
Can I take the cover off for a full-bed load?
Yes. Tool-free Jaw-Grip clamps hold the front of the cover to the bed rails, so releasing them and lifting the cover off takes seconds and needs no tools. Extang lists tool-free removal as the way to get full bed access when two thirds is not enough for the load.
How do I clean the cover and what voids the warranty?
Wash it with soap and water or Extang's Tonno Tonic. Avoid vinyl conditioners that contain silicone, which Extang names as a warranty exclusion. Other things that void the 5-year limited warranty: cargo pressing up against the panels, driving with the cover open but not buckled or closed but not clamped at all four points, opening it with snow or ice on top and towing the truck from the rear.
