Extang Solid Fold ALX Hard Folding Tonneau Cover for 2019-2023 Ford Ranger (5'1" Bed)

Here's the short version. Follow Extang's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact hardware, clamp positions and torque settings.

1. Fit the bulkhead seal first. Install the bulkhead seals, and on the 6' bed the two cab rail brackets, using the separate sheets in the hardware bags.
2. Set the cover on the bed. Lay the folded cover over the cab end of the bed, unfold it and slide it until the tailgate seal touches the tailgate with its first two fins, then fold it back up without moving it.
3. Clamp the front. 5' bed: hook the cab clamp under the metal flange of the bed rail. 6' bed: hook it under the cab rail bracket. Tighten the knob until the jaw touches, then two more turns, both sides.
4. Fit the tailgate brackets. There's a driver and a passenger latch bracket. Seat the curved end in the hole in the bed metal and the threaded stud in the notch, then put a washer and lock nut on the stud behind the bed metal and tighten with a 7/16" wrench to 8 ft-lb (11 Nm). Attach the striker bracket with the Torx screws, loose.
5. Close and latch. With the tailgate open and the cab clamps tight, close the cover, line the latch up with the striker and push down while hand-tightening the Torx screws (T-27). Adjust the latches and rotary knob as the sheet shows.
6. Final adjustment and tethers. Loosen the striker screws, push the cover (or pull the rear bow) down to the rail and tailgate, match both sides and retighten to 10 ft-lb (13.6 Nm). Fit the tethers and hand-tighten their knobs.
