- Fits With Your Toolbox: Extang builds the Solid Fold Toolbox 2.0 shorter than the bed so it sits behind a crossover toolbox, and Extang says it works with most 18"-20" toolboxes. You keep full access to the toolbox while the bed behind it stays covered. The toolbox is sold separately.
- L-Channel Toolbox Seal: A patented clamp-on L-channel closes the gap between the toolbox and the cover. Its seal presses against the toolbox so water and road grime stay out of the bed.

The Extang Solid Fold Toolbox 2.0 84653 is a hard folding tonneau cover for the 6'9" bed of the 2020-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD. It fits behind most 18"-20" crossover toolboxes, which are sold separately, with an L-channel seal bridging the gap. Its 1" EnduraShield TPO panels sit in an aluminum frame with a textured-black EnduraCoat finish, and spring-loaded EZ-Lock clamps lock it down with no drilling. It is assembled in Michigan and covered by Extang's three-year warranty.

How do I measure my bed?
Measure inside the bed floor from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate. Extang lists this bed as 6'9", about 82.2" long. Truck makers often round their bed names, so compare the measurement, not the name.
Does it come with a toolbox?
No. The toolbox is sold separately. This cover is made to sit behind a crossover toolbox you already have or buy on its own, and Extang says it fits most 18"-20" crossover toolboxes.
Can I still open my toolbox with the cover on?
Yes. The cover stops at the toolbox, so its lids open as usual, and the L-channel seal along the toolbox keeps water out of the gap between them.
Can I drive with it folded open, or take it off?
Yes to both. Release the rear EZ-Lock clamps and stow them in the rail before you fold the second section, then fold toward the toolbox and fasten both buckle straps for about two thirds of the bed. For the whole bed, loosen the Jaw-Grip front clamps by hand and lift it off. Never drive with it partly open.
How is it different from the regular Solid Fold 2.0?
Extang says it shares the Solid Fold 2.0's construction: 1" EnduraShield panels, an aluminum frame and MaxHinges. The toolbox version is built shorter to leave room for a crossover toolbox and adds the L-channel that seals against it.

Here's the short version. Follow Extang's install sheet (below) for your GM truck's exact clamp and bracket hardware. Your crossover toolbox goes in first; it is sold separately.
- Wash the bed and set the L-channel. Wash the truck bed. Stand the L-channel against the toolbox, its foam seal sitting under the L-channel's lower edge on the bed floor, and center it between the bed walls.
- Place the cover. Rest the assembled cover's front rail on top of the L-channel, centered against the toolbox. Unfold it fully and set it for the right cab and tailgate position, then refold it without letting it shift.
- Clear the flange. If a bed cap or bedliner covers the metal bed-wall flange, trim only enough of its edge for every clamp to bite on the bottom of the metal flange.
- Clamp the front. Hook each front clamp under the bed-wall flange and hand-tighten until it touches, then two more turns. Not on the lip of a bedliner or rail cap, and no wrench. Trucks with a factory cargo management rail get a clamp plate at the cab clamps (on most, the tailgate clamps hook straight into the rail), as the sheet's supplement shows.
- Fit the rear brackets, then close it. On this truck the rear of the cover latches to brackets. With pliers, lower a nut plate into each stake pocket (rubber side toward the bed), line the bracket up with the hole in the bed wall and with the cover's spring latch, and screw it through the bed hole into the nut plate, hand-tight; a bedliner needs trimming to reach that hole. With the tailgate open and the front clamps tight, fold the cover out flat and latch it.
- Driving with it folded. Release the rear clamps and stow them securely in the rail before you fold the second section, fold the cover forward toward the toolbox and fasten both straps to the front rail. Clear snow and debris before folding, and never drive with it partly open.

Extang covers the Solid Fold Toolbox 2.0 for three years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship.- What's covered: the rails, clamps, bows, aluminum parts and hardware.

Extang Toolbox Tonneau Cover
The cover was easy to install and remove. It butts up nicely to the toolbox and the water channel seems to catch water just fine. The latching system requires you to unclip both sides verses a single pull release, but not a big deal if not opening daily. I’m happy with this product.

Only downside is that the bed cover does not come with a pivot and prop for the end section to hold the cover in a completely out of the way position. While Pulling a fifth wheel this would have been a benefit instead of having to completely remove it.

Good 4. 5 Star Bed Cover
This bed cover would be 5 stars, however I am only rating it a 4 star product. The only complaint is that I wish it was a tighter seal specifically at the front bed rail sides leading up to where it meets the tool box. The flange and seal at the tool box seems tight but the 18" of bed cover along the bed rails leading up to this don't seal completely tight. This is due to the flange where the cover meets the tool box and the cover being slightly elevated in this location. I believe a thicker seal would eliminate the gap. I am going to install 1/4" sponge window seal to tighten up the seal. Other than this small imperfection or complaint, the cover looks good, easy to install, easy to adjust as needed for everyday use, and the price seems fair.

Installation took longer than expected
Quality is good and it looks great (2012 Tacoma), definitely adds to the aesthetic of the truck. However installation wasn't as easy as expected. There were parts that weren't labeled that were specific for the Tacoma and ended up spending extra time and watching two YouTube videos to figure out what to do since there were not specific instructions with the installation kit. It rained all weekend after putting the cover on, and there was some water that got in the truck because the seal is not tight all the way around (due to design of the truck), but not overflowing or soaked. If the product was 1-2 inches longer it would have helped cover the entire length of the bed. I would say that it does the job of a decent tonneau cover, but for the price maybe could have more custom fit, since it's in the same price range as the bak flip covers.

I wanted a bed cover that looks nice and offer more theft protection that your typical vinyl covers. This cover is very durable and quality constructed. It does a great job at protecting your cargo from the weather. Installation was fast & easy and it can be removed if necessary just as easily, no tools required. It’s securely locks in place yet easily folds up when access to your trunk bed is needed. A third of the truck bed always remains covered when folded and may be an issue for some but it isn’t for me.

I'll need to live with it for a while as I've only had the truck a couple of weeks and the cover less than that. It fits perfectly, was a breeze to install and is the easiest cover to open and close I've ever had - and I've had a few. Only thing I can see that might become an issue is the width of the panels. Folded up, it's quite a reach from where you can stand in the bed to the toolbox. Four smaller panels vs. three large ones might have been a better approach.

Works well, easy install
Got this after doing a lot of research. I wanted something that was strong on top but could move away in sections--not a solid lift top. So I got this. Installing it was fairly easy, just follow the instructions. I did have to re-adjust the position once due to some rain getting in, but after that I have not had any leaks. It also insulates against the hot weather--I've found the inside of the truck bed to be much cooler than the hot weather outside. It's perfect for hauling boxes and hay as I can fold it back to get to what I need. You can lock it shut (need locking tailgate as well) and you can lock it fully open with the buckles provided.

The fit is exact for 6’4” bed with 19” width toolbox. Added 1” marine grade weather stripping between toolbox and cover to stop any water leaks. So far it’s working. It’s an easy installation, just take your time. No problems.

So far I love this bed cover. I wanted a cover that would work with a toolbox and the covers that are made with a toolbox are 3 to 4 times the price and you only get a shallow box. I wanted to keep my standard depth toolbox and cover the remaining bed and this works great. I weatherstripped my toolbox to the front of the bed and installed this cover behind it and I haven't had a chance to drive in the rain but in my opinion it should be as weather resistant or more than most other covers I see. I work at a Ford dealer so I see many different options. It looks great on my truck and is everything I hoped it would be so far.

Seams to seal up good. Good solid cover will last a long long time. I must say I am disappointed. The video I watch on installation showed a rail that is bolted on. The cover I received for my Ford Ranger did not come with anything to bolt on. Has just a clamp at one end. And had to cut up my bed rail cover to get the Tonnequ Cover attached.

Cover looks great, sturdy so far. On my 2020 F350 the latches for the connection point next to toolbox slightly interfere with the design of the bedrail, so couldn't push as far forward as hoped. Also it's not 100% waterproof but so far very little water getting in rainstorms.

I think it looks great, is easy to put on and use but I wish it was wide enough to fully cover the bed stake pockets to keep rain from getting in the bed of the truck. It's close, just doesn't quite cover the holes and seal thos pockets. Otherwise I love it.

Good cover so far
If I were to design this cover, I would add an extra panel giving it one extra flip. With only two flips, there is too much of my bed that is in accessible with the cover on . I miss having the full bed access I used to have with my Bak flip cover. I do however prefer the way this cover seals over the bed rails instead of the channels I had with my old cover which used mess up the seals if the cover was not aligned perfectly. This cover is much easier to use the real test will come this winter .

Will not stand highway miles
The cover will not stand highway speeds and maintain it's rigid appearance. It developed waves in the top, produced by the air flowing over the cover. This occurred after my 1st highway trip around 70mph for three hours of driving.

still a good cover
looks good and installed pretty easy. at first i was confused because the installation video didn’t look like the one i had received, but upon further investigation it looks like they upgraded the hook mechanisms. under like rain this cover holds up well, but after a downpour i noticed that there was water coming in from the passenger side in the middle of the bed.

Good design and fit
I did a lot of research before I purchased. I wanted a solid cover so when I locked the tailgate I could have some security of the bed. Also, some covers require you to remove the existing accessory rails, install brackets, and then reinstall the rails in a new position, about an inch or so lower than standard. Not sure how that might affect other accessories I might buy using the rails. This cover uses the existing rails. Very happy with it so far. No significant rain on it yet to determine if it will leak at all but seems pretty tight so far. Nice!

Solid Quality and Looks
I have had this on my 2014 Silverado Crew Cab, Short Bed, LTZ for three years now. This is, in my opinion, the sharpest tonneau cover out there. It keeps everything in my bed BONE dry...not even a drop of water after three years. It also fits very snugly and I can take it off if I have to haul cargo in about 5 minutes and it take about 10 minutes to line it up and lock it down again. There is absolutely no drilling or fasteners involved in the installation of this thing. I was initially a bit hesitant because of the four plastic and metal dogs that hold this thing down, but they have been rock solid the whole time with no signs of wear. The seals have held up perfectly. I can confidently recommend this to anyone looking for a hard tri-fold cover. Its simply the best one out there.

I've only had this Tonneau cover for just over a month. In that time it seems like a well made, quality product. It surprised me how heavy and rigid it was in spite of product claims I read prior to purchase. Installation is pretty straight-forward, which I performed by myself. I will state that having two people would probably help most people with installation. But if you're reasonably strong, you can install alone. The only issue I had with the install was a few days after, I noticed top was loose and moving around on the interstate. Inspection revealed I had not installed the front clips properly. My truck has the plastic bed rail caps and while they didn't really interfere with the install, they did fool me into thinking I'd installed clips far enough over bed rail lip when I had not. No Drilling, No Tools, No Rails, No Problem!!!
It is a nice fit for the 6.5ft bed. You will most likely have to screw the black clip all the way up to get the metal U clip to go against the side rail lip when securing the first panel behind the cab. The cover doesn't move side to side and the weather stripping fits in the grooves of the plastic bed rail caps. Extang SF 2.0 Excellent Choice
This bed cover is very well built and worth the money. Installed very easily in about 15 minutes. It is indeed weather proof and does not leak. I took it through an automatic car wash and the bed was dry with no evidence of leaking. This unit is rugged and would be very difficult to break into, unlike a soft top tonneau cover. Color and material grain match the truck nicely and it looks great. It is strong enough to set items on top of it as well. I have nothing negative to say, as it is exactly what Extang says it is. If you need to remove it, it does have a little weight to it, but nothing unreasonably heavy.

I’m trying to send this back. It’s 1-1/2” to 2” short for my 2019 short bed crew. Only one of three seals fits front and back. Nice cover though.

Quick fit
It took 15-20 mins to put it on by myself. I am sure you could do it in half the time with help. Fits and looks great on my 2013 F150.

Excellent cover
I purchased this cover ~1yr ago for my Chevy SS; excellent choice. I can install/uninstall by myself in minutes, keeps bed totally dry even driving in a downpour, easy access to the bed, easily folds up out of the way, and sturdy enough to stand on to wash the top of the cab. I'll never have another pickup without an Extang solid folding cover.

I have had several different toppers/covers etc. both folding and fiberglass on my last 5 trucks. Not one can compare to this product. It is self locking, from inside the bed, allowing you, with a locked tailgate, to safely leave anything out you please. No water gets inside, and the mileage on my 2010 F150 supercrew went up 2 full MPG.

Good cover…easy to install.
This is my second Tonneau cover from American Trucking. I loved the first so much that I immediately ordered the same cover when I purchased my Ram 2500 (had a Ram 1500). All was good except I noticed some slight, but important, variations between the models. (1) The newer model does not have the support straps that attach to the bed hooks close to the cab. Not sure if this will impact the security of the cover. (2) The bed lights that came on Model #1 are gone. This is a HUGE disappointment since my new truck does not have OEM bed lights installed. I’ll deal with it, but that was a definite nice-to-have. (3) The latches to clamp the last panel down (closest to the tailgate) are quicker to install, but are made of plastic so I’m not sure how they will hold up. Also, they seemingly may be in the way of cargo depending on how much I need to pack into the truck bed. Overall, it’s a nice…

Decent, but leaks at hinges.
Bought this because i liked the look and also the fact that it is not just a soft cover. everything Is great about it except two things: One, and most importantly, is that it leaks. this occurs around the hinges/seems at the folds. Stored camping gear overnight for departure the following day. In the morning found all the gear to moderately wet right under each of the seams. Second, the handles/clamps that latch in the back can get in the way of cargo. This is mostly a minor inconvenience but does create issues if you have large objects in the bed and or full bed or when you are trying to remove/replace cargo via the tailgate without opening the top. One of the major benefits is since it is a hard top, it won't shrink, like every other soft tonneau I have owned. Plus it is strong enough to sit on and to place items/gear on. Easy Install took about 15 minutes by myself. Looks nice have to wait and see if it leaks or not. Could have been 1-2 inches longer to get better coverage front and at the tail gate.

Almost perfect
I just installed it on my truck and its almost perfect but there is a couple of things i want to point out. 1, they should made it an inch longer & wider just so it would look flush 2, the clamps are made out off hard polymer and there's nothing wrong with that but for the price of it is should've been metal or something better.

Good, Easy to install hard cover
Great looking, easy to install hard cover. Love the look on the truck and it is easy to fold up or even remove if you need full bed space. Only concern is that it is not 100 water tight due to the quick latch at the back, not putting a ton of pressure on the seal. Offset by the easy use however and only a little water will dribble in in heavy rain only.

Solid cover does the job
Like the finish, easy to install, only negative would seem to be the rear clamps they seem very cheaply made, time will tell I guess.. If Extang re designs and makes them stronger I would rate a 5 stars

Good tonneau cover
Just bought this tonneau for a new F150. It arrived less than a week after ordering and I had it unboxed and installed in about 5 minutes. It fits well, is easy to take on and off, and looks good. I like the ease of access to the bed and also that it locks securely with the F150 tailgate. I took it through a car wash and did have a little water in the bed but nothing that would have caused any issues for cargo I would carry. Haven't had it out in the rain yet, but will be interested to see if there are any leaks. So far it's as good as advertised.

I ordered the Extang Solid Fold for my '08 Tundra and it was delivered in about two weeks. I was already tired of removing snow from the bed of my truck earlier in the week, so I put it on the same day in 20 degree weather with a 30 mph wind blowing . Piece of cake install ! I have a factory bedliner and thought that it wouldn't fit without some modification. I was wrong.The location of the rear clamps are well thought out and can be tightened in place with a factory bedliner installed. Quality and fit is good. I washed road salt residue off the vehicle and was careful not to rinse heavily at the juncture of the truck bed and the tonneau cover. It has stayed dry inside so far. I crawled inside and closed the cover before tightening down and repositioned it so that I could see no daylight around the edges before final clamping. I don't know if other reviewers that complained about…
