Features

  • Through-Shaft Centerline Damping: ICON's Centerline stabilizers run the shaft through the body, so damping is equal in both directions and the steering is not pushed or pulled.
  • 2.5" Body, Piggyback Reservoir: The 2.5" body and piggyback reservoir add fluid volume against heat fade.
  • More Steering Travel: ICON says the kit allows more steering travel than other aftermarket stabilizers.
  • Built From 2.5 Series Parts: Internals come from ICON's 2.5 Series shocks, so the stabilizer can be rebuilt.
  • Hard Anodized 6061 Body: The 6061 aluminum body is hard anodized.
  • ICON Limited Warranty: ICON's published limited warranty applies for the original buyer on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Contact us first and we open the claim with ICON.

Description & Fitment

Here is ICON's 2.5 piggyback centerline steering stabilizer kit sized for the 2005-2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty and F-350 Super Duty. With a through-shaft, there is no push or pull: the stabilizer damps left and right turns the same. Its 2.5" body and piggyback reservoir add fluid volume against heat fade, and ICON says it allows more steering travel than rival stabilizers. The internals come from ICON's 2.5 Series, making it rebuildable; the 6061 aluminum body is hard anodized.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics

ICON.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics designs and builds performance suspension for trucks and SUVs at its shop in Riverside, California. Engineering is led by Dylan Evans, its head engineer and a SCORE champion driver, and ICON tests its parts on the street, on the trail and under race conditions.

ICON's engineers begin with the result they want from a vehicle, then study the forces acting on it in motion, which is where the name Vehicle Dynamics comes from. Fabrication stays in ICON's own shop, from laser cutting and metal forming to CNC machining, welding and final assembly. ICON calls its suspension systems and shock absorbers the top choice for popular trucks and SUVs.

Authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer, so every ICON part we sell is new and genuine. ICON's warranty is for the original retail buyer, on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Keep your Prestige Truck order receipt: we use it when we take a claim to ICON for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2005-2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

It fits when your vehicle matches one of these rows: 2005-2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty; 2005-2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty (SRW; excludes Wide Track Axle). If you are unsure about your trim or drivetrain, send us your VIN and we will check it against ICON's application list before you order.

Does ICON publish install steps for it?

Yes. ICON's install sheet for 65052 is linked in the Installation section below, with its steps condensed on this page. Use the sheet for the torque values.

Centerline or conventional stabilizer: what is the difference?

A conventional stabilizer's shaft enters one end, so its gas pressure pushes the steering one way. ICON's Centerline units run the shaft through the body, giving equal damping both ways with no push or pull.

Will a stabilizer fix death wobble?

A stabilizer damps steering shake but does not cure worn or loose front-end parts. Have the track bar, tie rods and ball joints checked if the shake persists.

Do I need a bump stop spacer?

Some ICON stabilizers call for a bump stop spacer of at least 1". The Installation section of each part shows what ICON asks for.

What warranty applies?

ICON covers its shock absorbers, steering stabilizer shocks included, for 1 year against manufacturer's defects, for the original buyer. Contact us first for a claim and we will send it to ICON for inspection.

What's involvedFour differential cover bolts come out and the stabilizer bracket bolts over the cover, the centerline stabilizer mounts to it and clamps to the tie rod with the steering centered, then steering travel is checked.

Here's the short version. Follow ICON's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Remove the (4) highlighted bolts from the differential cover using a 9/16" socket/wrench.
  2. Install the steering stabilizer bracket over the differential cover using the supplied 3/8" bolts. Place the button head bolt in the top left corner to clear the engine crossmember.
  3. Set the steering stabilizer so there is 4.340" of dead shaft showing.
  4. Install the steering stabilizer with the rod end side into the bracket using the supplied 1/2" hardware and a 3/4" socket/wrench. [Torque to 90 ft-lbs]
  5. Install stabilizer clamp onto the tie rod, being sure not to extend or collapse the stabilizer. Make sure steering wheel and tires are straight/centered.
  6. After installation, cycle steering left and right to ensure full range of steering is achievable and stabilizer is installed correctly.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

ICON covers its shock absorbers, steering stabilizer shocks included, for 1 year against manufacturer's defects.
    • Coverage belongs to the original retail buyer who owns the vehicle the part was first installed on.
    • A shock that fails in its first year goes to ICON for inspection and service. If ICON finds the cause was neglect, poor installation or anything other than normal wear and tear, the owner pays for labor, parts and shipping.
    • ICON repairs or replaces a defective part, at its discretion. Removal, reinstallation, freight and incidental or consequential costs are not covered, and parts that wear in normal use are not treated as defective.
    • Not covered: finish (including finish marks from shipping), alterations or modifications, installation that departs from ICON's instructions, racing use, police, taxi, government or commercial vehicles, and sales outside the United States and Canada.
    • ICON shocks leave the factory charged with nitrogen. Letting that charge out can make a shock malfunction, and ICON does not cover a failure caused by low nitrogen pressure.
    • To claim, contact us first with your order number and a short description of the problem. We open the claim with ICON for you, and your Prestige Truck receipt is the proof of purchase ICON asks for.
