Features

  • Double the Damping: Running a second shock per side doubles the damping available, per ICON, for bigger obstacles and rough roads.
  • Sold as a Pair: The kit is a pair of secondary shocks, one per side.
  • Serviceable Aluminum Shocks: The secondary shocks are valved for the vehicle and can be fully rebuilt and revalved instead of replaced.
  • Reservoir for Cooler Running: The reservoir holds extra oil, which ICON credits with cooler running and steadier damping on long rough runs.
  • CDCV Compression Adjustment: CDCV parts add ICON's Compression Damping Control Valve, adjustable from outside the shock through 10 settings.
  • Lift Range Listed by ICON: ICON lists the lift range each shock is made for in the title and fitment rows.

Description & Fitment

This ICON 2.5 Series secondary shock pair is sized for the 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra. It works alongside the primary dampers for owners who run hard ground, effectively doubling damping, per ICON. The piggyback reservoir adds oil so the shocks run cooler and stay consistent on long rough runs, and CDCV versions add an external compression adjuster with 10 settings. Options cover lifts from 0-3" up to 6", and the aluminum shocks are fully rebuildable and revalveable.

Fitment & Compatibility

Toyota
Years Model Bed Notes
2007-2021 Tundra 0-3" lift
2007-2021 Tundra 0-3.5" lift

Check your fit: match your year, model and the notes in each row: 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra (0-3" lift); 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra (0-3.5" lift); 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra (6" lift). Also needed, per ICON, by version: 57722CP/57722P: ICON part 56109; 59704P-CB/59705P-CB: Installation of Secondary Shock Mounting Tabs to OE Front Lower Control Arms and Compatible Secondary Shock Hoops.

Not for: years, models or trims outside those rows. Other secondary shock upgrades in this line for the same model: K53151/K53152/K53153 (S2 Secondary Shock Upgrade System, 2007-2021).

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics

ICON.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics designs and builds performance suspension for trucks and SUVs at its shop in Riverside, California. Engineering is led by Dylan Evans, its head engineer and a SCORE champion driver, and ICON tests its parts on the street, on the trail and under race conditions.

ICON's engineers begin with the result they want from a vehicle, then study the forces acting on it in motion, which is where the name Vehicle Dynamics comes from. Fabrication stays in ICON's own shop, from laser cutting and metal forming to CNC machining, welding and final assembly. ICON calls its suspension systems and shock absorbers the top choice for popular trucks and SUVs.

Authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer, so every ICON part we sell is new and genuine. ICON's warranty is for the original retail buyer, on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Keep your Prestige Truck order receipt: we use it when we take a claim to ICON for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra?

It fits when your vehicle matches one of these rows: 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra (0-3" lift); 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra (0-3.5" lift); 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra (6" lift). If you are unsure about your trim or drivetrain, send us your VIN and we will check it against ICON's application list before you order.

Does ICON publish install steps for it?

Yes. ICON's install sheet for 57722CP is linked in the Installation section below, with its steps condensed on this page. Use the sheet for the torque values.

Do I need ICON coilovers already installed?

Yes. S2 adds secondary shocks to an existing ICON front coilover setup, and ICON lists the front lift range each kit works with. Some kits are not recommended with remote reservoir coilovers or on KDSS-equipped vehicles, so check the fitment notes.

Does installation require welding?

On some vehicles, yes. ICON calls for welding on the lower control arm, or on the lower shock tab and steering stop, for certain kits, and the notes for your vehicle say whether yours does.

Will it change my turning radius?

On most of these vehicles ICON notes that maximum steering angle is reduced so the secondary shocks have room, which means a wider turning circle.

Which stage should I choose?

Stage 1 adds 2.5 Aluminum Series secondary shocks. Stage 2 adds ICON's CDC Valve (CDCV) for 10 compression settings. Stage 3 uses Omega Series bypass shocks with 28 compression and rebound settings you change by hand.

What's involvedThe S2 secondary shocks mount to the ICON S2 hoop up top and to the welded lower shock mount at the bottom, with the short rod end spacer toward the frontthis requires the S2 hoop kit, and hardware is re-torqued after 100 miles.

Here's the short version. Follow ICON's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps and torque values. These steps are for part 57722CP; the other parts on this page install from their own ICON sheet below.

  1. Using a properly rated jack, raise the front of the vehicle and support the frame rails with jack stands. Ensure the jack stands are secure and set properly before lowering the jack. NEVER WORK UNDER AN UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE.
  2. Mount the shock to the S2 hoop using a 3/4" socket and the 1/2" x 2.75" bolt supplied in the S2 hoop kit.
  3. Mount the shock in the pocket of the welded lower shock mount using a 15/16" socket. The S2 shock has a long and a short rod end spacer, make sure the short spacer goes towards the front of the truck. [Torque to 170 ft-lbs]
  4. Reinstall wheels and lower vehicle back to the ground. [Torque to factory spec]

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

ICON shocks and coilovers in this system carry ICON's 1-year shock warranty against manufacturer's defects, and ICON's other suspension components carry its Limited Lifetime Warranty.
    • Coverage belongs to the original retail buyer who owns the vehicle the parts were first installed on.
    • A shock that fails in its first year goes to ICON for inspection and service. If ICON finds the cause was neglect, poor installation or anything other than normal wear and tear, the owner pays for labor, parts and shipping.
    • ICON parts must go on as the complete kit shown in ICON's application guide. Swapping out or leaving off a required part voids the warranty.
    • ICON repairs or replaces a defective part, at its discretion. Removal, reinstallation, freight and incidental or consequential costs are not covered, and parts that wear in normal use are not treated as defective.
    • Not covered: finish (including finish marks from shipping), alterations or modifications, installation that departs from ICON's instructions, racing use, police, taxi, government or commercial vehicles, and sales outside the United States and Canada.
    • To claim, contact us first with your order number and a short description of the problem. We open the claim with ICON for you, and your Prestige Truck receipt is the proof of purchase ICON asks for.
