Features

  • Tuned for Each Application: ICON sets the length and the damping tune of every 2.5 Series shock for its vehicle, using a one-piece digressive piston and 5WT shock oil that keeps damping steady across a wide temperature range.
  • Bump Zone Near Full Compression: On piggyback and selected remote reservoir parts, a billet 6061 manifold under the top cap creates ICON's internal Bump Zone, which adds about 20% more damping force near full compression to fend off harsh bottom outs.
  • Reservoir Style Choices: Internal reservoir shocks keep everything in one body. Piggyback shocks carry the reservoir on the shock and remote reservoir shocks put it on a hose, and both add oil and cooling to reduce fade on long, hard runs.
  • Compression Adjustment Options: CDCV adds a 10-position compression knob, CDXS splits compression into high-speed and low-speed knobs with 10 settings each, and CDEV changes compression electronically through ICON Intelligent Control. ICON says piggyback and remote reservoir shocks can take a CDCV upgrade later.
  • Stout Shaft and Bearings: 2.5 Series shocks use a 7/8" induction-hardened, chrome-plated shaft with PTFE-lined spherical bearings, a strong, low-deflection combination for heavy trucks and rough ground.
  • Rebuildable and Revalveable: Every 2.5 Series shock can be rebuilt when worn and revalved for a new load or use, so it can be serviced for years instead of thrown away.

Description & Fitment

ICON designed this front 2.5 Series shock pair around the 2011-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and Silverado 3500 HD and 2011-2019 GMC Sierra 2500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD. ICON configures the length and damping of each VS shock for the vehicle it lists, and the shock can be rebuilt or revalved down the road. With its reservoir, the shock holds more oil, and ICON credits that with cooler running and steadier damping when worked hard. ICON lists it for a 0-2" lift.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics

ICON.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics designs and builds performance suspension for trucks and SUVs at its shop in Riverside, California. Engineering is led by Dylan Evans, its head engineer and a SCORE champion driver, and ICON tests its parts on the street, on the trail and under race conditions.

ICON's engineers begin with the result they want from a vehicle, then study the forces acting on it in motion, which is where the name Vehicle Dynamics comes from. Fabrication stays in ICON's own shop, from laser cutting and metal forming to CNC machining, welding and final assembly. ICON calls its suspension systems and shock absorbers the top choice for popular trucks and SUVs.

Authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer, so every ICON part we sell is new and genuine. ICON's warranty is for the original retail buyer, on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Keep your Prestige Truck order receipt: we use it when we take a claim to ICON for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2011-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD?

It fits when your vehicle matches one of these rows: 2011-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD (0-2" lift); 2011-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD (0-2" lift); 2011-2019 GMC Sierra 2500 HD (0-2" lift); 2011-2019 GMC Sierra 3500 HD (0-2" lift). If you are unsure about your trim or drivetrain, send us your VIN and we will check it against ICON's application list before you order.

How do I get install help for this part?

Contact us before you order and we will get install guidance from ICON for your vehicle.

CDCV, CDXS or CDEV: which should I choose?

Pick fixed valving if you want ICON's tune with nothing to adjust. CDCV adds one knob with 10 compression settings, CDXS gives separate high-speed and low-speed knobs with 10 settings each, and CDEV adjusts compression from the cab through ICON Intelligent Control, which needs ICON's IIC module.

Piggyback, remote or internal reservoir: what is the difference?

An internal reservoir shock keeps the nitrogen charge inside the body and is the simplest to fit. A piggyback reservoir rides on the shock body and a remote reservoir sits on a hose nearby; both add oil and cooling, which cuts fade on long, hard drives.

Are these sold as a pair?

Most 2.5 Series part numbers are a pair for one end of the vehicle. A few are single, side-specific shocks, so read the part title and order the driver side and passenger side numbers together where needed.

How often do ICON shocks need service?

ICON's maintenance guide suggests a factory service about every 40,000 miles for street use, or about every 15,000 miles for a mix of street and dirt, and sooner if a shock leaks, rides worse or gets noisy. Wash off salt and mud, wax the bodies once a year and check the nitrogen charge yearly.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

ICON covers its shock absorbers, including the shock in every coilover, for 1 year against manufacturer's defects.
    • Coverage belongs to the original retail buyer who owns the vehicle the part was first installed on.
    • A shock that fails in its first year goes to ICON for inspection and service. If ICON finds the cause was neglect, poor installation or anything other than normal wear and tear, the owner pays for labor, parts and shipping.
    • ICON repairs or replaces a defective part, at its discretion. Removal, reinstallation, freight and incidental or consequential costs are not covered, and parts that wear in normal use are not treated as defective.
    • Not covered: finish (including finish marks from shipping), alterations or modifications, installation that departs from ICON's instructions, racing use, police, taxi, government or commercial vehicles, and sales outside the United States and Canada.
    • ICON shocks leave the factory charged with nitrogen. Letting that charge out can make a shock malfunction, and ICON does not cover a failure caused by low nitrogen pressure.
    • To claim, contact us first with your order number and a short description of the problem. We open the claim with ICON for you, and your Prestige Truck receipt is the proof of purchase ICON asks for.
  • Free shipping

Ships free to the lower 48 states, with no minimum order.

  • Inspect on delivery

These shocks ship charged with nitrogen: check each body, shaft, reservoir hose and adjuster knob as soon as the carton arrives, photograph any damage right away, and never let the nitrogen out. Check it as soon as it arrives.
    • Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
    • If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
    • Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.
    • Email support@prestigetruck.com right away with your order number, a short note and photos. We send a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you.
