Adjustable Compression Damping Adjustable Compression Damping

Features

  • 3" Body, More Piston Area: The 3" body has 50% more piston area in the ride zone than a 2.5 Series shock, which steadies the vehicle in the roughest driving and shows on the road too.
  • Remote Reservoir on Every Coilover: A remote reservoir adds oil and nitrogen volume plus cooling surface, so damping stays consistent as the shock heats up.
  • Adjustable Compression Damping: Depending on the part, compression is tuned with a CDCV adjuster, a CDXS dual-speed valve or a CDEV valve run by ICON Intelligent Control.
  • Hydraulic Bump Zone: A multi-stage hydraulic Bump Zone raises bottom-out resistance through the last 40% of compression travel, keeping big hits under control.
  • Tuned for the Vehicle: Each coilover is valved and sprung for the vehicle it fits, with lengths and mounts designed around that platform's front suspension.
  • Fully Rebuildable 3.0 Shocks: ICON's 3.0 Series shocks are fully serviceable, so they can be rebuilt or re-tuned instead of replaced.

Description & Fitment

This ICON 3.0 Series front coilover fits the 2010-2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor only, as part of ICON's 1-3" lift setup. It suits owners who want position-sensitive damping, with an internal hydraulic bump zone that firms it up over the last 40% of travel. CDCV gives external compression adjustment with 10 settings, and a remote reservoir adds oil to keep damping steady when the shock runs hot. It is sold as a driver or passenger unit, and the 3" body is fully rebuildable.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics

ICON.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics designs and builds performance suspension for trucks and SUVs at its shop in Riverside, California. Engineering is led by Dylan Evans, its head engineer and a SCORE champion driver, and ICON tests its parts on the street, on the trail and under race conditions.

ICON's engineers begin with the result they want from a vehicle, then study the forces acting on it in motion, which is where the name Vehicle Dynamics comes from. Fabrication stays in ICON's own shop, from laser cutting and metal forming to CNC machining, welding and final assembly. ICON calls its suspension systems and shock absorbers the top choice for popular trucks and SUVs.

Authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer, so every ICON part we sell is new and genuine. ICON's warranty is for the original retail buyer, on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Keep your Prestige Truck order receipt: we use it when we take a claim to ICON for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2010-2014 Ford F-150?

It fits when your vehicle matches one of these rows: 2010-2014 Ford F-150 (1-3" lift; SVT Raptor only). If you are unsure about your trim or drivetrain, send us your VIN and we will check it against ICON's application list before you order.

Is an alignment part of the install?

Yes. ICON's install sheet for 95000L calls for the vehicle to be aligned once the coilover kit is in. The sheet is linked in the Installation section below.

How is the 3.0 Series different from the 2.5 Series?

The 3" body has 50% more piston area in the ride zone, more oil and a hydraulic Bump Zone over the last 40% of compression. ICON builds it for drivers who push harder on rougher ground.

Do I need other parts?

Often. Depending on the vehicle, ICON calls for items such as Delta Joint PRO upper control arms, a sway bar drop bracket, a differential drop or a track bar. The notes for your vehicle list what it needs.

Will I need an alignment and ADAS recalibration?

Yes. ICON calls for a professional alignment after installing front coilovers, and late-model vehicles with driver-assist cameras and sensors need them recalibrated.

How often do ICON shocks need service?

ICON's maintenance guide suggests a factory service about every 40,000 miles for street use, or about every 15,000 miles for a mix of street and dirt, and sooner if a shock leaks, rides worse or gets noisy. Wash off salt and mud, wax the bodies once a year and check the nitrogen charge yearly.

What's involvedThe factory front coilovers come out, the coil bucket is trimmed 0.25" to clear the reservoir hose fitting, and ICON 3.0 remote-reservoir coilovers bolt in with new upper hardware, followed by an alignment and a 100-mile re-torque.

Here's the short version. Follow ICON's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Ensure truck is in gear or in park, set parking brake, turn off engine, and chock tires.
  2. Using a properly rated jack, raise the front of the vehicle and support the frame rails with jack stands. Ensure the jack stands are secure and set properly before lowering the jack. NEVER WORK UNDER AN UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE.
  3. Remove the (3) nuts securing the upper coil seat to the frame perch. Do not loosen or remove the larger center nut securing the spring seat to the shock shaft.
  4. Before installing the new ICON coilover, the stock coil bucket will need to be trimmed to allow for clearance of the large hose attaching the remote reservoir and compression adjuster.
  5. Install the upper mount using (3) 3/8" x 1.00" bolts and (3) lock washers. Do not reuse old coilover hat.
  6. Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground. Roll the vehicle back and forth a couple of feet and bounce the front end to allow the suspension to settle to its new ride height.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

ICON covers its shock absorbers, including the shock in every coilover, for 1 year against manufacturer's defects.
    • Coverage belongs to the original retail buyer who owns the vehicle the part was first installed on.
    • A shock that fails in its first year goes to ICON for inspection and service. If ICON finds the cause was neglect, poor installation or anything other than normal wear and tear, the owner pays for labor, parts and shipping.
    • ICON repairs or replaces a defective part, at its discretion. Removal, reinstallation, freight and incidental or consequential costs are not covered, and parts that wear in normal use are not treated as defective.
    • Not covered: finish (including finish marks from shipping), alterations or modifications, installation that departs from ICON's instructions, racing use, police, taxi, government or commercial vehicles, and sales outside the United States and Canada.
    • ICON shocks leave the factory charged with nitrogen. Letting that charge out can make a shock malfunction, and ICON does not cover a failure caused by low nitrogen pressure.
    • To claim, contact us first with your order number and a short description of the problem. We open the claim with ICON for you, and your Prestige Truck receipt is the proof of purchase ICON asks for.
  • Free shipping

Ships free to the lower 48 states, with no minimum order.

Coilovers ship assembled and charged with nitrogen: check the springs, shock bodies, reservoir hoses and hardware as soon as the carton arrives, photograph any damage right away, and never let the nitrogen out. Check it as soon as it arrives.
    • Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
    • If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
    • Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.
