Features

  • Through-Shaft Centerline Damping: ICON's Centerline stabilizers run the shaft through the body, so damping is equal in both directions and the steering is not pushed or pulled.
  • Adjustable Drive Zone on JL/JT: The JL/JT Centerline stabilizer has 9 Drive Zone levels that set how firm the steering feels across 110 degrees either side of center.
  • Rotatable Reservoir: The reservoir rotates for clearance on ICON and most other lifts.
  • Bump Stop Spacer Needed: Plan on a 1" or larger bump stop spacer, per ICON's sheet.
  • Clear Anodized 6063 Body: The body is clear anodized 6063 aluminum.
  • ICON Limited Warranty: ICON's published limited warranty applies for the original buyer on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Contact us first and we open the claim with ICON.

Description & Fitment

This ICON adjustable centerline steering stabilizer fits the front of the Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT. Because the shaft runs through the body, damping is the same each way and there is no push or pull on the wheel. Nine Drive Zone settings change damping across 110 degrees of wheel input left and right of center. The reservoir rotates for clearance on ICON and most other lifts, a 1" or larger bump stop spacer is needed, and the body is clear anodized 6063 aluminum.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics

ICON.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics designs and builds performance suspension for trucks and SUVs at its shop in Riverside, California. Engineering is led by Dylan Evans, its head engineer and a SCORE champion driver, and ICON tests its parts on the street, on the trail and under race conditions.

ICON's engineers begin with the result they want from a vehicle, then study the forces acting on it in motion, which is where the name Vehicle Dynamics comes from. Fabrication stays in ICON's own shop, from laser cutting and metal forming to CNC machining, welding and final assembly. ICON calls its suspension systems and shock absorbers the top choice for popular trucks and SUVs.

Authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer, so every ICON part we sell is new and genuine. ICON's warranty is for the original retail buyer, on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Keep your Prestige Truck order receipt: we use it when we take a claim to ICON for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2020-2023 Jeep Gladiator?

It fits when your vehicle matches one of these rows: 2020-2023 Jeep Gladiator; 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler (excludes 4xe; excludes 392). If you are unsure about your trim or drivetrain, send us your VIN and we will check it against ICON's application list before you order.

Will I have to cut or drill anything?

Yes, ICON's install sheet for 22043 includes drilling, cutting or trimming. Read the sheet in the Installation section below before you start, or have a shop do the work.

Centerline or conventional stabilizer: what is the difference?

A conventional stabilizer's shaft enters one end, so its gas pressure pushes the steering one way. ICON's Centerline units run the shaft through the body, giving equal damping both ways with no push or pull.

Will a stabilizer fix death wobble?

A stabilizer damps steering shake but does not cure worn or loose front-end parts. Have the track bar, tie rods and ball joints checked if the shake persists.

Do I need a bump stop spacer?

Some ICON stabilizers call for a bump stop spacer of at least 1". The Installation section of each part shows what ICON asks for.

What warranty applies?

ICON covers its shock absorbers, steering stabilizer shocks included, for 1 year against manufacturer's defects, for the original buyer. Contact us first for a claim and we will send it to ICON for inspection.

What's involvedThe stabilizer axle bracket and track bar bolt come off, a new bracket mounts at the track bar with a hole drilled through the track bar mount, and the centerline stabilizer clamps to the tie rod.

Here's the short version. Follow ICON's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Place the vehicle on a flat surface, verify that the transmission is shifted into PARK, firmly apply the emergency brake, and place wheel chocks on both sides of the tires. The wheels do not need to be removed for installation.
  2. Remove the stabilizer axle bracket. Remove the (3) mounting bolts using a 13mm.
  3. Remove the track bar bolt using a 21mm.
  4. Install the steering stabilizer track bar bracket using the supplied 14mm bolt. Hold the bracket straight and tighten the bolt.
  5. Install supplied 3/8" hardware using a 9/16". Torque 3/8" hardware to 35 ft-lbs using a 9/16". Torque track bar bolt to 160 ft-lbs.
  6. With the tie rod clamp positioned, use the supplied 1/4-20 x 1.75 screws. Make sure the bottom of the clamp is parallel to the ground. Torque to 8 ft-lbs using a 3/16" allen.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

ICON covers its shock absorbers, steering stabilizer shocks included, for 1 year against manufacturer's defects.
    • Coverage belongs to the original retail buyer who owns the vehicle the part was first installed on.
    • A shock that fails in its first year goes to ICON for inspection and service. If ICON finds the cause was neglect, poor installation or anything other than normal wear and tear, the owner pays for labor, parts and shipping.
    • ICON repairs or replaces a defective part, at its discretion. Removal, reinstallation, freight and incidental or consequential costs are not covered, and parts that wear in normal use are not treated as defective.
    • Not covered: finish (including finish marks from shipping), alterations or modifications, installation that departs from ICON's instructions, racing use, police, taxi, government or commercial vehicles, and sales outside the United States and Canada.
    • ICON shocks leave the factory charged with nitrogen. Letting that charge out can make a shock malfunction, and ICON does not cover a failure caused by low nitrogen pressure.
    • To claim, contact us first with your order number and a short description of the problem. We open the claim with ICON for you, and your Prestige Truck receipt is the proof of purchase ICON asks for.
