Features

  • Rate Chosen per Vehicle: ICON picks the spring rate for each vehicle and lift height, using dual rate, triple rate or performance designs depending on the part.
  • Lift and Ground Clearance: Taller springs raise the ride height by the amount ICON lists for each part, adding ground clearance and room for larger tires.
  • Built for One Position: Each kit is made for the front or rear of its vehicle, as named in the title.
  • Progressive Spring Designs: Dual and triple rate springs start soft for small bumps and firm up deeper in the travel, so ride quality holds up as the load changes.
  • ICON Warranty, Claims Through Us: ICON's published limited warranty covers these springs for the original buyer, and we open any claim with ICON for you.
  • Part of ICON's Systems: These springs come from the same development work as ICON's Stage suspension systems, so they pair with ICON shocks and lift parts.

Description & Fitment

If you drive the 2003-2010 Dodge 2500 and 3500 and 2011-2012 Ram 2500 and 3500, on 4WD models, this ICON dual rate coil spring kit is listed for it. Each spring changes rate partway through its travel, which keeps the ride smooth without wallowing. It is matched to a 4.5" lift, per ICON. ICON's install sheet includes some drilling, cutting or trimming, so read it before you start.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics

ICON.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics designs and builds performance suspension for trucks and SUVs at its shop in Riverside, California. Engineering is led by Dylan Evans, its head engineer and a SCORE champion driver, and ICON tests its parts on the street, on the trail and under race conditions.

ICON's engineers begin with the result they want from a vehicle, then study the forces acting on it in motion, which is where the name Vehicle Dynamics comes from. Fabrication stays in ICON's own shop, from laser cutting and metal forming to CNC machining, welding and final assembly. ICON calls its suspension systems and shock absorbers the top choice for popular trucks and SUVs.

Authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer, so every ICON part we sell is new and genuine. ICON's warranty is for the original retail buyer, on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Keep your Prestige Truck order receipt: we use it when we take a claim to ICON for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2003-2010 Dodge 2500?

It fits when your vehicle matches one of these rows: 2003-2010 Dodge 2500 (4WD; 4.5" lift); 2003-2010 Dodge 3500 (4WD; 4.5" lift); 2011-2012 Ram 2500 (4WD; 4.5" lift); 2011-2012 Ram 3500 (4WD; 4.5" lift). If you are unsure about your trim or drivetrain, send us your VIN and we will check it against ICON's application list before you order.

Is any drilling or trimming needed?

Yes, ICON's install sheet for 214010 includes drilling, cutting or trimming. Read the sheet in the Installation section below before you start, or have a shop do the work.

Dual rate or triple rate: what is the difference?

Both start soft and firm up as the spring compresses. A triple rate spring adds a third stage, so the change in feel is more gradual. ICON chooses the design for each vehicle, and the part title names it.

Do I need new shocks with these springs?

ICON designs these springs as part of its suspension systems. Check the fitment notes for your part, and match the shocks to the lift height you choose.

Will I need an alignment?

Lifting the front of a vehicle changes its alignment, and ICON calls for an alignment after many of its front spring installs. The Installation section of each part shows what ICON asks for.

What warranty applies?

ICON's published limited warranty applies to its coil springs, for the original buyer and the vehicle they were first installed on. Contact us first for a claim and we will open it with ICON.

What's involvedThe wheels and inner fender liners come off and a bolt is removed either by dropping the exhaust or cutting its head offthe front coils are replaced and shocks reinstalled, with sanding possible and a re-torque after 100 miles.

Here's the short version. Follow ICON's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Jack up the front end of the truck and support the frame at the front frame rails with jack stands. NEVER WORK UNDER AN UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE!
  2. Remove tires and inner fender liners. Fender liners must be removed during this install. (8mm)
  3. Slide the new springs into place. Be sure the coil isolator is installed on the top of the coil and the appropriate stud ring is in place.
  4. Lower the ICON shock into the coil from under the hood. Connect and tighten the lower shock mount. This may be difficult to position by reaching through the coil. Make sure the lower shock spacers are spacing the shock forward.
  5. Re-install the tires and lower vehicle to the ground.
  6. If the shock was discharged during installation, charge the shock reservoir accordingly with pure nitrogen.
