Features

  • Tune It by Hand: External bypass valves meter the oil running through the bypass tubes, giving 28 detented settings of compression and rebound in quarter-turn steps, all changed by hand with no tools.
  • Bump Zone Near Full Compression: A billet 6061 aluminum manifold machined into the upper body forms ICON's internal Bump Zone. Damping force climbs sharply as the shaft reaches it, which helps prevent harsh bottom outs on fast hits.
  • Reservoirs for Extra Cooling: Remote reservoir and piggyback versions add oil volume and cooling surface, which cuts shock fade during long, hard runs.
  • Built to Be Serviced: Every Omega shock is fully rebuildable and revalveable, and a damaged bypass tube can be replaced on its own.
  • Durable Shaft and Internals: A 7/8" induction-hardened, chrome-plated shaft, a one-piece digressive piston with vehicle-specific valving, 5WT shock oil and CNC-machined 6061 aluminum parts make up the inside.
  • Mounts That Fit: PTFE-lined spherical bearings and mounting hardware made for each application let the shock go into the mounts it was designed for.

Description & Fitment

ICON designed this rear Omega Series bypass shock pair around the 2005-2023 Toyota Tacoma. Tuning happens at the bypass valves: ICON says they offer 28 tool-free settings for compression and rebound. With its reservoir, the shock holds more oil, and ICON credits that with cooler running and steadier damping when worked hard. The ICON sheet for this part includes drilling, cutting or trimming steps.

About ICON Vehicle Dynamics

ICON.

ICON Vehicle Dynamics designs and builds performance suspension for trucks and SUVs at its shop in Riverside, California. Engineering is led by Dylan Evans, its head engineer and a SCORE champion driver, and ICON tests its parts on the street, on the trail and under race conditions.

ICON's engineers begin with the result they want from a vehicle, then study the forces acting on it in motion, which is where the name Vehicle Dynamics comes from. Fabrication stays in ICON's own shop, from laser cutting and metal forming to CNC machining, welding and final assembly. ICON calls its suspension systems and shock absorbers the top choice for popular trucks and SUVs.

Authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized ICON Vehicle Dynamics dealer, so every ICON part we sell is new and genuine. ICON's warranty is for the original retail buyer, on the vehicle the part was first installed on. Keep your Prestige Truck order receipt: we use it when we take a claim to ICON for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2005-2023 Toyota Tacoma?

It fits when your vehicle matches one of these rows: 2005-2023 Toyota Tacoma. If you are unsure about your trim or drivetrain, send us your VIN and we will check it against ICON's application list before you order.

Does the install involve cutting or drilling?

Yes, ICON's install sheet for 59926P includes drilling, cutting or trimming. Read the sheet in the Installation section below before you start, or have a shop do the work.

Do Omega shocks come ready to drive?

They are ready to install, but ICON ships them with the compression and rebound valves fully open. Plan to set the valves after installation to get the ride you want.

How many adjustment settings are there?

Each hand-adjustable bypass valve has 28 detented settings in quarter-turn steps, covering compression and rebound, with no tools needed.

Can I use ICON shock shin guards?

No. ICON states that its shock shin guards do not work with Omega bypass shocks.

How often do ICON shocks need service?

ICON's maintenance guide suggests a factory service about every 40,000 miles for street use, or about every 15,000 miles for a mix of street and dirt, and sooner if a shock leaks, rides worse or gets noisy. Wash off salt and mud, wax the bodies once a year and check the nitrogen charge yearly.

What's involvedThe factory rear shocks come off, the new remote reservoir shocks install in the factory mounts, and each reservoir bracket fastens through an 11/32" hole drilled in the frame, clear of lines inside the channelall hardware is re-torqued after 100 miles.

Here's the short version. Follow ICON's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Using a properly rated jack, raise the rear of the vehicle and support the frame rails with jack stands. Ensure the jack stands are secure and set properly before lowering the jack. NEVER WORK UNDER AN UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE.
  2. Remove the factory shock using two 17mm socket/wrenches.
  3. Mount the reservoir to the reservoir bracket using the supplied hose clamps and a 5/16" nut driver. Make sure that the hose clamps line up with the machined grooves on the reservoir surface.
  4. Remove the reservoir bracket from the reservoir.
  5. Fasten the reservoir bracket to the frame using the self tapping bolts.
  6. Install the wheels and lower the vehicle back to the ground. [Torque lugs to factory spec]

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

ICON covers its shock absorbers, including the shock in every coilover, for 1 year against manufacturer's defects.
    • Coverage belongs to the original retail buyer who owns the vehicle the part was first installed on.
    • A shock that fails in its first year goes to ICON for inspection and service. If ICON finds the cause was neglect, poor installation or anything other than normal wear and tear, the owner pays for labor, parts and shipping.
    • ICON repairs or replaces a defective part, at its discretion. Removal, reinstallation, freight and incidental or consequential costs are not covered, and parts that wear in normal use are not treated as defective.
    • Not covered: finish (including finish marks from shipping), alterations or modifications, installation that departs from ICON's instructions, racing use, police, taxi, government or commercial vehicles, and sales outside the United States and Canada.
    • ICON shocks leave the factory charged with nitrogen. Letting that charge out can make a shock malfunction, and ICON does not cover a failure caused by low nitrogen pressure.
    • To claim, contact us first with your order number and a short description of the problem. We open the claim with ICON for you, and your Prestige Truck receipt is the proof of purchase ICON asks for.
