How is a Growler board different from a tube step?

Instead of a round bar with step pads, the Growler Fleet is a flat 7" wide aluminum board with louvered tread along its whole length, so you can step anywhere on it.

Will it suit a lifted truck?

N-Fab pitches the Growler Fleet for factory-height and lifted pickups alike. The brackets are made for your cab, so check the fitment table for your exact truck.

Is there a matching hitch step?

Yes. N-Fab's Growler Hitch Step uses the same louvered tread on a 19" by 7" aluminum step that slides into a 2" receiver.

Do they come as a pair?

Yes. Each part number includes the driver-side and passenger-side boards, the brackets for that cab and the mounting hardware.

Here's the short version. Follow N-Fab's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps.

  1. Remove the factory parts. Starting on the driver side, remove the factory running boards if equipped and discard them; you will see the 8mm threaded mounts in the body. Do the same on the passenger side.
  2. Fit the brackets. Install the three rocker panel mounting brackets to the factory attachment points with the supplied M8x30mm hex cap bolts with washer, loose for now.
  3. Hang the board. Set the running board along the top of the three brackets and center it front to back along the cab. Insert the supplied threaded brackets inside the running board lip over each bracket.
  4. Fasten the board. Secure each mounting location with the supplied 3/8" x 1" hex bolts and leave them loose.
  5. Tighten the hardware. After final adjustment, tighten the running board threaded mounts, then the lower pinch weld attachment points, and finish with the upper mounts.
  6. Do the passenger side. Repeat for the passenger side.

Love the look and feel of these

These are just what I have been looking for. Had nerf bars for years and issue was always grip and slip, especially in wet and freezing conditions. And others weren't lying, easiest install possible. 12 nuts, 12 bolts, and you're done. Could easily install in under an hour if you have the right tools ready.

Easy 1/2 hour project to install in driveway, literally a 13mm socket is all you need. Good solid running boards, My second set.
