The PowertraxPRO MX is Retrax's electric retractable tonneau cover with standard rails: hold a button on one of the two included key fobs and the motor opens or closes it, and let go part-way and electromagnetic brakes hold it in place. The top is double-walled aluminum slats in a textured matte black powder coat, rated for 500 lb spread evenly, and it rolls into a low spiral canister level with the bed rails that carries a fob-controlled cargo light and drain tubes. It runs from the truck battery through a fused harness. Retrax makes it in truck-specific versions, each cut for one bed length and, on some trucks, one bed option, and backs it with a 3-year limited warranty.

Retrax makes retractable tonneau covers. Retrax's install sheets list Retrax in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
The PowertraxPRO MX is the electric aluminum-slat cover with standard rails; the PowertraxPRO XR adds T-slot rails. The range splits into manual covers (RetraxONE MX and XR, RetraxPRO MX and XR, Retrax IX and the RetraxPRO FRC-4000 EZ-OFF) and electric covers (PowertraxPRO MX and XR, PowertraxONE XR and the Retrax EQ). XR models add T-slot rails for racks; MX models have standard rails.

In Retrax's words, the warranty "is to the initial consumer purchasing the truck bed cover and it is not transferable to a subsequent end user. Proof of purchase may be required to enforce these warranty rights." Your Prestige Truck order receipt is that proof.
Start with your truck's year, make and model, then measure the bed along the rail from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate and match it to the version for your truck. Some trucks have a separate version for a bed option, such as RamBox, GMC's CarbonPro bed and the Tundra deck rail system. Each version's page lists what it fits and what it does not, or send us your VIN.
Most clamp on with no drilling, and a fused harness runs to the battery. Many follow Retrax's standard install sheet, and some trucks have their own sheet, including the Tacoma, Ram with RamBox, GMC's CarbonPro bed and 2019+ GM full-size trucks. Each version's page links the sheet for that truck.
Hold the open or close button on one of the two included key fobs and the motor runs the cover; let go part-way and the electromagnetic brakes hold it there. One press of the light button turns on the canister light, which shuts off after 3-5 minutes.
A harness runs from the cover along the frame to the truck battery, with an inline fuse holder (red wire to positive, brown to negative). The install sheet walks through routing it.
Retrax's sheet says the cover has no manual release from inside the bed, so never let anyone, including children or pets, ride or sit in the bed with the cover closed, and keep hands clear of the moving cover.
It seals at the rails and drain tubes carry canister water out of the truck, but Retrax's sheet says it is not airtight. Clear snow and ice off before you run it; that is a warranty condition.

Just put it on yesterday and seems to be working fine. We just got the pickup and haven’t driven it yet ( dealer delivered it) My son did most of the work, but I can run the button just fine.

Retrax XR on my Tundra. Set out on a long trip and discoered that it leaks badly, wetting everything in the bed of the truck. Took videos when I got back from the trip and sent to Retrax. They just sent me a new canister and rolling cover. Looking at the cover, however, it is apparent that the design is such that leaking is inevitable. What is the point of a cover if it doesn't at least keep most of the water out?

The Retrax bed cover is listed for 19-21 ram. It also fits 2022. Good looking cover best part is it’s lockable

The Retrax Powertrax PRO MX cover is awesome. I installed it myself, with a little help from my brother in law. Did the wiring myself one day (in about 2 hours), then installed the cover the next day in less than 4 hours. Very pleased with the results. The online video was a big help.
When people see it they are impressed and amazed. The security of this system is perfect. Have recommended it many times!

I installed the Retrax Powertrax Pro MX on my 2024 Ford F350 Platinum. Great instructions, easy install with simple tools. From unboxing to clicking open and close on the remote, about 2 hours. There were no issue with the product or the install. Everything fitted perfectly and worked as described. The finished look is sleek and clean. Love it.

Bought power unit 2015 for my 2015 duramax , very rough on my equipment,., Retrax has held up great !! They sent me a new motor 2 years ago with Questions in two days !!/ with new remotes Texas style . Rhett Mc.
This is a great truck bed cover. For me it is worth the money. I have recently bought 2 the first for my Ford Super duty. I liked it so much I bought a second for our GMC 2500. Everyone that sees it operate for the first time raves over it. The cover looks great and is made of quality. The key to installation is to make sure it is square and stays square throughout the completion of the install. Make sure whoever installs takes the time to do it right for trouble free operation.
I just love it! The cover fits my truck extremely well and works great! It seals out the weather and allows me to carry my tools when I'm stopping for supplies, it's very secure.
I am disappointed in this cover. I paid extra money for this compared to the one I typically buy. The roll up and unroll is jerky. You have to hold the remote the entire time to roll and unroll. I had my Ford dealer install this one because I was out of town. I had scratches on the top of the slats from the first time I rolled it up. Yesterday I completely disassembled the cover to find my second remote. Inside the slat coil inside the canister! This is my last Retrax Cover. I hope it last the four years I intend to keep my pickup. See photo's I took before and during finding the remote. (seems I cannot come up with the correct size pixel to send the photo's) email me and I will send them to an email.

It secures your bed from prying eyes and sticky fingers. I just wished it was a little more waterproof.
This cover is great and met all my expectations. Per other reviews it does not close or open smoothly when new but after about 10 days it runs very smoothly. That was expected from all the reviews I read about the weather stripping having to be worn in. Also very easy to put together with the instructions provided. Solid unit and will buy this brand again. Also order was shipped quickly and they called to confirm everything before it was shipped.
This is my second electric tonneau cover and is a much improved version of my previous model. The installation instructions were clear and I have a fairly waterproof system. There were some issues with the installation, such as: 1. the early instructions indicated not to power up the unit until it was completed, however, the integral braking requires power to unlock and unroll the unit (during installation) to check alignment; 2. The canister braces included as a supplement in the instructions have insufficient screws for plastic threads; 3. The remote fob requires button depression at all times during cycling. I would prefer a simple button push for full open or close.
Love the look and security of the cover however they dropped the ball on the power of the motor. No matter how many times in and out and adjusting lineup it still doesn’t close 100% when it’s almost closed and requires a little hand assistance. Should have put a stronger motor on it. You can even hear the motor struggling when it’s openimgnor closing the whole time.
Cover is clunky during opening and closing. Hoping that it improves with use.
Perfect fit works just like advertised and had to leave it out at work under these spring thunder storm warnings with rain just poring down for hours and when I got home and parked in the garage I checked for leaks. NONE what so ever. I love this and got a great deal.
I’ve had the Retrax covers on my previous truck I love the ease of the power retractable cover but have a real problem with Retrax being able to get their product to me without being damaged this is the third time of receiving a broker one , two in previous years, now this one,
