- T-slot Trax Rails: The aluminum side rails are T-slot Trax Rails that Retrax says accept most T-slot racks, gear and mounts from major makers such as Yakima, Thule and Rhino-Rack (sold separately).
- Key-fob remote operation: Two key fobs come in the kit; hold a button and the built-in electric motor opens or closes the cover.
- Stops and locks anywhere: Let go of the button part-way and the electromagnetic brake locks the cover where it is, for partial bed coverage.
- Double-wall aluminum slats: Double-walled aluminum slats with a matte black powder coat carry 500 lb spread evenly.
- LED cargo light: A remote-activated LED cargo light on the canister lights the bed and shuts itself off after 3-5 minutes to save the battery.
- Drain tubes: A built-in drainage system with drain tubes carries water from the canister out of the truck. Retrax's sheet notes the cover is not airtight.

The Retrax PowertraxPRO XR is an electric retractable tonneau cover with T-slot rails. It suits owners who want a hard cover that opens and closes at the press of a key fob button. Stop it at any point and it locks in place, and the T-slot Trax Rails accept racks and gear mounts (sold separately). The PowertraxPRO XR is the electric aluminum-slat cover with T-slot Trax Rails; the PowertraxPRO MX has standard rails. The range splits into manual covers (RetraxONE MX and XR, RetraxPRO MX and XR, Retrax IX and the RetraxPRO FRC-4000 EZ-OFF) and electric covers (PowertraxPRO MX and XR, PowertraxONE XR and the Retrax EQ). XR models add T-slot rails for racks; MX models have standard rails.

How do I pick the right PowertraxPRO XR for my truck?
Start with your truck's year, make and model, then measure the bed along the rail from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate and match it to the version for your truck. Some trucks have a separate version for a bed option, such as RamBox, GMC's CarbonPro bed and the Tundra deck rail system. Each version's page lists what it fits and what it does not, or send us your VIN.
Do all versions install the same way?
Most clamp on with no cutting or drilling, and a fused harness runs to the battery. Many follow Retrax's standard install sheet, and some trucks have their own sheet, including the Tacoma, Ram with RamBox, GMC's CarbonPro bed and 2019+ GM full-size trucks. Each version's page links the sheet for that truck.
How is the PowertraxPRO XR different from the PowertraxPRO MX?
Both are electric double-walled aluminum slat covers rated for 500 lb, with two key fobs, electromagnetic brakes, a fob-controlled light and a 3-year limited warranty. The XR adds T-slot Trax Rails for racks and accessories.
What can I mount on the T-slot rails?
The Trax Rails accept most T-slot racks, gear and mounts from major makers (sold separately), and Retrax publishes a T-slot compatibility chart. For rack load ratings, Retrax points you to the rack system's manual, and you must stay within your truck's capacity.
Is it safe with someone in the bed?
Retrax's sheet says the cover has no manual release from inside the bed, so never let anyone, including children or pets, be in the bed with the cover closed, and keep hands clear of the moving cover.
How is it powered?
A fused harness runs along the frame to the truck battery (red to positive, brown to negative). The cargo light shuts itself off after 3-5 minutes.

Retrax backs the PowertraxPRO XR with a limited warranty for three (3) years against defects in materials or workmanship, from the original date of purchase.- A defective cover or hardware component is repaired or replaced, at Retrax's option; Retrax may substitute a newer model with a similar form and function.
- It covers the original purchaser only and is not transferable. Keep your receipt, since proof of purchase may be required. Retrax asks for registration within 30 days of delivery; contact us for claims and registration help.
- To keep it valid: clean with mild automotive soap and water only, no strong chemicals; never lubricate the rails or sealed ball bearings; keep cargo secured at all points while driving; check every clamp and retention part for tightness after the first week of driving after installation (or reinstallation) and now and then after that; clear snow, ice and anything else off before opening; never tow the truck from the rear with the cover on (remove and store it first).
- Claims: contact us for claims and registration help. Retrax issues a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number before anything is returned. Retrax may ask for the part back postage prepaid, and shipping charges apply to a repair or replacement. A claim needs your order number, contact details, vehicle, product or part number, a description of the issue, the original receipt and photos.
- Not covered: damage from an accident, neglect, unforeseeable use, improper installation or servicing, or any other cause that is not a defect in material or workmanship. Retrax's general warranty page also lists normal wear (including fading), water intrusion and add-on accessories as not covered, and Retrax does not accept returns of non-defective products once installed.

Looks great & easy to install!
I bought this tonneau cover for my 2026 Sierra SLT. I'm very pleased with the look. It opens & closes quicker than I expected. I watched the install video a couple of times and that was enough to install this cover by myself. Installing the wiring took about 1 hour. Assembling the side rails & back cover took about 1 hour. I raised the assembled canister & rails in the garage with a block & tackle and backed under it. The rest was easy. Installing the canister took about 2 hrs.
