Smooth CoreTrax rollers

Seals tight, drains water

Key-lockable TraxLatch

Features

Double-wall aluminum slats: The top is made of double-wall aluminum slats, rated for up to 500 lb spread evenly, and the matte black powder coat is built to resist scratches.
Smooth CoreTrax rollers: Sealed CoreTrax rollers run in the rails and the TraxLatch handle gives you a solid grip, so the cover glides open and shut. The bearings are sealed for life: Retrax says never to spray lubricant into the rails.
Holds open anywhere: The TraxLatch handle latches the cover at any point along the rails, not just fully open or closed. You can even latch it down against a load to help hold it between the cover and the tailgate, though Retrax still says to strap cargo down.
Seals tight, drains water: The cover seals against the bed rails, and a water management system carries runoff to drain tubes at the canister that you route out of the bed. Retrax's own sheet says the cover is not airtight, so think weather-resistant, not waterproof.
Key-lockable TraxLatch: Wherever you latch the cover, open or closed, you can lock the TraxLatch handle with its key. Retrax says the key lock and the double-wall slats give it added theft resistance.
Opens with tailgate up: The cover and the tailgate work independently and in any order, so you can reach your gear without dropping the tailgate.

Description & Fitment

The RetraxPRO MX is a manual retractable tonneau cover for the 6'6" bed on Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD and 3500 HD trucks, including the 2019 Silverado 1500 Legacy and Sierra 1500 Limited. It suits owners who want a strong cover that stops anywhere along the rails and key-locks there with the TraxLatch handle. Cover and tailgate open independently, so the tailgate can stay shut while reaching in. This is the wide-rail version, and it clamps on with no drilling on most trucks.

About Retrax

RETRAX.

Retrax makes retractable tonneau covers. Retrax's install sheets list Retrax in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The RetraxPRO MX is the aluminum-slat manual cover with standard rails; the RetraxPRO XR is the same cover with T-slot rails. The range splits into manual covers (RetraxONE MX and XR, RetraxPRO MX and XR, Retrax IX and the RetraxPRO FRC-4000 EZ-OFF) and electric covers (PowertraxPRO MX and XR, PowertraxONE XR and the Retrax EQ). XR models add T-slot rails for racks; MX models have standard rails.

Authorized Retrax dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized Retrax dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine Retrax. In Retrax's words, the warranty "is to the initial consumer purchasing the truck bed cover and it is not transferable to a subsequent end user. Proof of purchase may be required to enforce these warranty rights." Your Prestige Truck order receipt is that proof.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2014-2019 Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500?

Yes, if it has the 6'6" bed. Measure along the bed rail from the bulkhead to the closed tailgate. If you're unsure, send us your VIN and we'll check.

Standard rails or wide rails: which do I need?

Retrax makes this cover for these trucks in two rail versions; this listing is the wide-rail one and 80462 is the standard-rail one. The material we have from Retrax doesn't explain how to tell them apart, so check the part number on your order or old cover, or send us a photo of your bed rails with your VIN and we'll confirm.

What is the difference between the RetraxPRO MX and the RetraxONE MX?

The PRO MX has a double-wall aluminum slat top rated for 500 lb, sealed CoreTrax rollers, the TraxLatch handle and a limited lifetime warranty. The ONE MX is a one-piece aluminum-reinforced polycarbonate cover rated for 200 lb with a spring-loaded handle and a 1-year limited warranty. Both are manual covers with standard (non T-slot) rails.

Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?

It is built to: the cover seals against the bed rails and drain tubes carry water from the canister out of the truck. Retrax's own sheet says the cover is not airtight, so plan on weather-resistant rather than sealed. Clear snow and ice off before you open it; that is a warranty condition too.

How much weight can it hold?

Retrax rates the PRO MX for up to 500 lb, evenly distributed. Retrax's sheet says cargo should still be secured to the bed so it can't come loose.

Does it need any maintenance?

Wash it with mild automotive soap and water only and don't wax it. Never spray lubricant or cleaner into the rails; the bearings are sealed and lubricating them voids the warranty. If the rails feel sticky, Retrax suggests rubbing paraffin (candle) wax along them.

Installation

Install time Less than 1 hour

Warranty, shipping & returns

Warranty
Retrax backs the RetraxPRO MX with a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials or workmanship, from the original date of purchase.
- A defective cover or hardware component is repaired or replaced, at Retrax's option; Retrax may substitute a newer model with a similar form and function.
- It covers the original purchaser only and is not transferable. Keep your receipt, since proof of purchase may be required. Retrax asks for registration within 30 days of delivery; contact us for claims and registration help.
- To keep it valid: clean with mild automotive soap and water only, no strong chemicals; never lubricate the rails or sealed ball bearings; keep cargo secured at all points while driving; check every clamp and retention part for tightness after the first week of driving after installation (or reinstallation) and now and then after that; clear snow, ice and anything else off before opening; never tow the truck from the rear with the cover on (remove and store it first).
- Claims: contact us for claims and registration help. Retrax issues a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number before anything is returned. Retrax may ask for the part back postage prepaid, and shipping charges apply to a repair or replacement. A claim needs your order number, contact details, vehicle, product or part number, a description of the issue, the original receipt and photos.
- Not covered: damage from an accident, neglect, unforeseeable use, improper installation or servicing, or any other cause that is not a defect in material or workmanship. Retrax's general warranty page also lists normal wear (including fading), water intrusion and add-on accessories as not covered, and Retrax does not accept returns of non-defective products once installed.

2019 Chevy Silverado

I bought it a solid month & a half ago already. It's honestly a really nice cover that's definitely built with quality. The cover rolls so smoothly after the initial break in period, looks sleek, & is both functional & practical. The price is my only complaint, it's spendy without a doubt, but you get what you pay for nowadays. Now we will just have to see how it holds up in the long run.

3rd Retrax Cover

This is my 3rd Retrax retractable hard tonneau cover. I am a pro at installing them now LOL! It took me about 30 minutes, and I am having the most leak free results yet. It is a really good looking, quality locking cover. I was not a fan of the canister at first, but I really haven't had the need to carry something so large that it was a problem. I highly recommend it, mine is on a 2026 GMC Sierra with the short bed. It is a little expensive, but for me, worth it.

Worth every penny!

The Retrax Pro is exactly what my wife and I needed. Traveling full time with our fifth wheel this gives us the versatility and peace of mind wherever we are. Being able to close the cover part way anywhere along the track is great for hauling taller items while still protecting other items in the bed. Best part is my 5ft 4in wife can easily open and close the cover without having to climb into the bed on our 2024 Silverado 3500 dually! Installation was fairly easy, making sure the cover was aligned properly and the rails parallel took the most time.

The Cream of the Crop

Best Truck Cover I've ever had, installed on a High Country Silverado. The slats are heavy duty and will never sag after years of use, like the cheaper covers do. The rollers with ball bearing operate as smooth as silk. And the locking mechanism is outstanding. Installation is easy, but due to the heavy duty construction, the canister is heavy and best to use 2 people. Buy it and you will never regret it.

I’ve had many different tonneau covers before, they all leak water when going through a car wash. There are just a few drops with this retractable cover. Next to none. Also I thought the cover would rattle while driving, no it doesn’t. This is first class. Even if I open it and slide it a few inches or open it all the way I can lock in any position I want to. This is a great tonneau cover.

This is the best cover for my truck that I have ever purchased! At 66 years old and handicapped it is so easy to open and close! Really keeps 99% of the water out also. I have received many compliments on it! I only wish it would have been a little less expensive! But I understand that you get what you pay for! Keep up the great work

High Quality well made bed cover

I purchased the Pro MX, part number 80485 for my new 2026 Silverado 3500 HD long bed. This is the fourth Retrax cover I have put on a new pick up. I like the updated design with sealed ball bearing rollers. It was very easy to install. Instruction YouTube video explains the process very well. If you adjust it properly, you can open it and close it with literally one finger it rolls that easy. It is well-made and it is made in North Dakota. I highly recommend the Retrax Pro MX you will be pleased

Best Tenue I've owed.

No cover is 100% unless you get a cap, but this cap is not only resistant to most all water, but it looks better than any other on the market. I couldn't be happier with the ability to stop the cover at any point on the track. The trickiest thing I had with the installation was that the pre-drilled holes in the bed of my GMC was not large enough for the drain tubes and aligning the sides. Pricy but in this case, you definitely get bang for your buck. Overall....Totally great!

Love it!

Installation was a little more tedious that I originally thought. Took a little over 2 hrs. I would say the majority of that was doing the fine tuning to ensure the distance between the rails was uniform. It’s done with these plastic bolts that have a tendency to strip, but we got it done. Now that it’s on, I love it!! No water issues, everything stays dry. It looks amazing and sleek on the truck. Easy to slide, and locking mechanism is very secure. Pretty high price point, but it seems worth it so far.

2026 Ford Ranger Raptor

Purchased this for a new raptor. Wanted dry secure storage without looking overlandy. It delivers on what I wanted. Instructions were not great. They had a seal to install that after I contacted customer support they stated was simply not needed. I spent a few weeks fussing with it. The drain tubes for this unit will not stay in by themselves based on design. You will need to use rtv to glue them in or find another way to attach them. This does cleanup real nice after an off-road adventure and looks real sharp. It’s surprisingly quiet as well, even after repeated high speed offroad adventures and rock crawling. Would get 5 stars with better instructions and better drain tubes.
