Features

  • Linear-rate coil springs: New springs set the 1.5" lift on a 4-door JK.
  • Fixes the nose-down rake: Levels the factory stance.
  • Highway manners kept: TeraFlex says on-road handling isn't compromised.
  • Carries heavier gear: Higher rate offsets bumper, winch and spare weight.
  • Clears larger tires: The added height makes room for bigger tires.
  • Stock-length shocks: No shocks included; stock-length shocks work.

Description & Fitment

The TeraFlex 1.5" Coil Spring Lift Kit for the 4-door 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited replaces the factory springs with linear-rate coils that lift the Jeep 1.5" and correct the nose-down rake. TeraFlex says the springs add off-road capability without hurting highway handling, and their higher rate helps carry a heavier bumper and winch, a bigger spare or weekend gear while clearing larger tires. The kit needs aftermarket wheels with 4.75" backspacing or less, or TeraFlex Offset Wheel Adapters (1055000, not included) on stock wheels. Shocks are not included; stock-length shocks work, and TeraFlex recommends Falcon or 9550 VSS Twin-Tube shocks.

About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Installation

Install time 3 hours
What's involvedRemove both track bars, the sway bar links and the coil springs, then fit the new 1.5" springs front and rear and new front sway bar links. Torque the control arm and track bar bolts at ride height and re-torque all fasteners after 300 miles.
Tools
  • Basic mechanic's tool set
  • 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21mm sockets and wrenches
  • 7/16", 5/8", 3/4" sockets and wrenches
  • 3/8" & 1/2" drive ratchets
  • 3", 6" & 12" extensions

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. With the Jeep on the ground, remove both track bars (21mm) and loosen, but do not remove, all control arm bolts (21mm); raise the Jeep on jack stands under the frame high enough for the axles to drop, and remove the wheels.
  2. Front: support the axle with a jack, lift it slightly and remove the lower shock bolts (18mm); on 2012 and newer free the brake line retainer bracket (10mm) and any lines that limit droop, then remove the sway bar links (18mm at the axle, 18mm socket and 19mm wrench at the sway bar).
  3. Front: lower the axle while watching the wiring and lines, remove the coil springs and fit the new 1.5" springs, driver side first.
  4. Front: install the new sway bar links on the outside of the sway bar and inside the axle mount (75 ft-lbs), then raise the axle and refit the lower shock bolts (56 ft-lbs).
  5. Rear: support the axle, remove the lower shock bolts (18mm), the breather tube and ABS harness clips, the park brake cable bracket (10mm deep well), the upper sway bar link at the sway bar arm (18mm) and the brake line mount (10mm); lower the axle slowly without stretching lines, fit the new rear springs reusing the factory isolators, then raise the axle and refit the lower shock bolts (56 ft-lbs) and brake line mount (16 ft-lbs).
  6. Refit the wheels, lower the Jeep and bounce it to settle the bushings; at ride height torque the upper control arm bolts to 75 ft-lbs and the lowers to 125 ft-lbs, the lug nuts to 95-115 ft-lbs, install the rear and front track bars at 125 ft-lbs, center the steering wheel with the drag link adjuster sleeve, and re-torque all fasteners after 300 miles.
