About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from 1257100?

1257100 is the 4-arm rear stretch kit only. This kit adds front Alpine long control arms and brackets.

Does it include springs or shocks?

No. TeraFlex lists lift coil springs and longer shocks as required and not included.

How involved is the install?

It is a cutting and welding job: the factory front and rear brackets come off for the new long arm, mid arm and coil spring relocation brackets. Wheels need 4.75" backspacing or less, or 1055000 adapters.

What warranty does TeraFlex give?

TeraFlex covers its control arms, IR bushings, coil springs, bump stops and track bars for life against defects in materials and workmanship. Non-IR control arm and track bar bushings carry 1 year and finishes 90 days. For a claim, contact us with your order details.

How quickly does it ship?

Shipping is free to the lower 48 states, and most orders arrive within 1-5 business days. We email your tracking number as soon as it ships.

Can you confirm it's right for my Jeep before I order?

Yes. Contact us with your VIN or year, model and trim, plus your current lift, and we'll check it against TeraFlex's fitment information before it ships.

Installation

Install time 17 hours
What's involvedCut off the front control arm brackets and weld on the long arm brackets, install the new front and rear Alpine arms with the 2" rear stretch (cutting the track bar brace and spring perch dimples), then get a 4-wheel alignment.
Tools
  • Jack
  • Car lift (or jack stands)
  • MIG welder
  • 1/4" and 1/2" ratchets
  • 1/4" drive sockets: 1/4", 5/16", 10mm, 7/16"

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Lift the Jeep by the frame, remove the wheels, both drivelines, the transfer case skid plate and the exhaust skid plate/cross member (not reused), and the front calipers with their anchor brackets.
  2. Disconnect the front axle: track bar, wheel speed sensors, breather hoses and harnesses, shocks and drag link; drop the exhaust and swing the transfer case cross member aside, then remove all four front control arms and set the axle aside (p5).
  3. Secure wiring and fuel lines, cut off the front control arm brackets without cutting into the frame, grind smooth, clean paint and powder coat from the weld areas, then index and weld on the long arm brackets, avoiding long vertical welds.
  4. Refit the front axle with springs, install the new Alpine upper and lower arms (do not torque until on the ground), calipers, drag link, shocks (top nut 20 ft-lbs, lower bolt 72 ft-lbs) and wheel speed sensors (p7).
  5. Do the rear 2" stretch: remove the rear shocks and arms, cut the track bar brace and spring perch dimples (p9), fit the new rear arms fixed end at the frame (p11), the lower brackets (1/2" bolt 75 ft-lbs, U-bolt nuts 85 ft-lbs, p12) and refit the Y-pipe with the supplied spacers (p10).
  6. On 2012+ 4-doors relocate the EVAP canister (p14); torque all arm bolts on the ground, check every suspension and steering bolt, get a 4-wheel alignment from an experienced shop and center the steering with the drag link.
