About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Installation

Install time 20 hours
What's involvedRemove the drivelines, springs, track bars and all eight control arms and lower the fuel tank. Cut off the stock arm brackets, weld on the long arm brackets and frame gussets, fit the arms, springs, shocks and brake lines, then get a 4-wheel alignment.

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Lift the Jeep by the frame, remove the wheels and both drivelines completely, then the exhaust, drag link at the knuckle, both track bars, calipers, sensors and breathers (p5).
  2. Lower the axles and remove the springs, then remove all four rear and all four front control arms (keep the hardware) and set the axles aside safely.
  3. Support the transfer case and swing its cross member aside, disconnect the fuel supply, return and EVAP lines (the supply line may be under pressure, cap all open lines) and lower the fuel tank; remove the catalytic converters (p8).
  4. Cut off the stock control arm brackets, grind the frame smooth, clean paint within 1" of the weld areas, and weld on the rear frame gussets and the new long arm brackets with C-clamps; prime and paint all bare metal (p9).
  5. Set the Alpine long arms to 27 3/4" front upper, 33 11/16" front lower, 19 1/2" rear upper and 35 1/8" rear lower and install them adjustable end at the axle (new hardware at the frame, original at the axle, rear lowers bends in and up, p11), bolts untightened.
  6. Fit the spring spacers, springs, shocks, sway bar links (75 ft-lbs, p14) and new brake lines with copper washers (p15), refit the brakes, sensors, drag link, tank and exhaust, relocate the EVAP canister on 2012+ 4-doors (p18), torque all arm bolts on the ground and get a 4-wheel alignment (p19).
