Features

  • Long-arm geometry for 3-6" lifts: Long arms for the JL Wrangler with 3-6" of lift, used with TeraFlex's Alpine long arm brackets.
  • Gusseted bolt-on brackets: TeraFlex says its long arm brackets are gusseted and reinforced, with less noise and vibration than other long arm kits.
  • Factory-style bushings: Maintenance-free factory-style bushings damp noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Aluminum clamp collars: Anodized 6061-T6 aluminum clamp collars lock each rod end once the length is set.
  • Adjustable length: Alpine arms adjust in length, so you can set them to the measurements in TeraFlex's instructions and dial in the alignment.
  • Major install, alignment required: The factory arm brackets are cut off the frame to fit the long arm brackets, and an alignment is required afterward.

Description & Fitment

This TeraFlex Alpine long control arm kit (part 1316500/1316540) is built for the 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL. You get the arms for one position, either front lower (1316500) or rear lower (1316540), chosen by variant, and every arm carries maintenance-free factory-style bushings. It is built for a JL lifted 3-6". The arms must run on TeraFlex's long arm brackets, sold separately. Choose the front or rear lowers to match the end of the Jeep you are correcting. Springs, shocks and track bars are not part of this kit; plan on an alignment once it is in.

About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL?

Yes, if your Jeep matches the fitment table and sits within 3-6" of lift. If you're unsure, send us your VIN and we'll check.

What length do I set the arms to?

TeraFlex's instructions list starting lengths by position and lift height. Set the arms to those, then have the Jeep aligned.

Do I need new control arms after a lift?

Lifting a Jeep changes caster and pinion angle. TeraFlex sizes each kit for a lift range: preset Sport arms and Sport frame brackets suit moderate lifts, while adjustable Alpine arms let you set the length for your exact height. Plan on an alignment after any control arm change.

What is the difference between Alpine and Alpine IR?

Both are adjustable-length arms. Alpine arms use maintenance-free factory-style bushings; Alpine IR arms use TeraFlex IR (Independent Rotation) bushings, which rotate freely so the arm binds less as the suspension flexes.

Short arms or long arms?

Short arms bolt to the factory mounts and TeraFlex rates them for 0-4.5" of lift. Long arm kits are for JL Wranglers with 3-6" of lift and need the factory control arm brackets cut off the frame to fit the long arm brackets, so they are a much bigger job.

Can I replace just one pair?

Yes. Arms are sold by position as well as in 8-arm kits. TeraFlex's instructions say that if you replace a single pair to correct caster and pinion angle, it recommends the lower arms.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

TeraFlex covers its control arms and IR bushings for life against defects in materials and workmanship. Alpine control arm bushings other than IR carry 1 year, and paint and powder coat finishes 90 days (defects only).
    • TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
    • Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
    • For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
    • Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
    • Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.

Worth the Money

Bought after hearing so many great things about the IR bushings and their longevity, could definitely see more flex opposed to using stock arms. For anyone running under 4.5" of lift, this is the way to go.

Installed on 2020 Jeep 4d Rubicon

Installed on 2020 Jeep 4d Rubicon with a TeraFlex 3.5 inch lift. Completed install in my driveway with jack stands. It was a little difficult to torque the nuts due to body position. Otherwise, all parts fit perfectly, no issues at all. Product is very well made and allowed me to adjust the pinion angel and wheel base. The instructions were pretty good as well. I would have preferred to know the end torque value rather than torque plus add degrees (i.e. 74ft lbs + 185 degrees).
