Features

  • Long arm geometry for 3"-6": Built for JK Wranglers lifted 3"-6", where a long lower arm keeps the angles flatter than a short factory-length arm.
  • Heavy 50mm x 5mm DOM tube: TeraFlex makes its Alpine lower long arms from 50mm x 5mm wall drawn-over-mandrel tube for strength off-road.
  • Adjustable length: Set caster and pinion angles up front, tune rear pinion and anti-squat, and center the axle in the wheel well.
  • Factory-style bushings: Maintenance-free factory-style bushings that TeraFlex says give good noise, vibration and harshness damping.
  • Pick one arm or a kit: Buy a single driver or passenger arm, or TeraFlex's front lower or rear lower kit, so you can replace only what you need.
  • Works with Alpine brackets: Pairs with the JK Alpine Long Arm Bracket Kit (1957000, sold separately), which moves the frame mounts for the long arms.

Description & Fitment

TeraFlex's Alpine Long Control Arms in the lower positions for the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK, sold as a single arm (driver front 1131501, passenger front 1131511, driver rear 1131541, passenger rear 1131551) or as TeraFlex's front lower kit (1315500) or rear lower kit (1315540). The lowers are made from 50mm x 5mm wall DOM tube and adjust in length for 3"-6" of lift. They only work with TeraFlex's JK Alpine Long Arm Bracket Kit (1957000), which is not included, and installing those brackets means cutting and welding on the frame.

About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these bolt to my factory control arm brackets?

No. TeraFlex says these long arms must be used with its JK Alpine Long Arm Bracket Kit (1957000, not included). Fitting those brackets means cutting off the factory control arm brackets and welding.

What lift height are they for?

TeraFlex lists them for JK Wranglers with 3"-6" of lift.

Do I need an alignment?

Yes. Changing control arm length changes caster and pinion angles, so have the Jeep aligned once the arms are set.

What warranty does TeraFlex give?

TeraFlex covers its control arms, IR bushings, coil springs, bump stops and track bars for life against defects in materials and workmanship. Non-IR control arm and track bar bushings carry 1 year and finishes 90 days. For a claim, contact us with your order details.

How quickly does it ship?

Shipping is free to the lower 48 states, and most orders arrive within 1-5 business days. We email your tracking number as soon as it ships.

Can you confirm it's right for my Jeep before I order?

Yes. Contact us with your VIN or year, model and trim, plus your current lift, and we'll check it against TeraFlex's fitment information before it ships.

Installation

Install time 2 hours
What's involvedInstall the long control arms on the welded-on long arm frame brackets, with new hardware at the frame and the original hardware at the axle, then torque them to spec with the Jeep on the ground.
Tools
  • Basic mechanics tool set
  • Cutting torch or equivalent
  • Welder
  • Grinder with flapper wheel

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. With the Jeep low on fuel, lift it, mark and remove the drivelines if you are replacing them, lower the rear axle with a strap around the pinion, and drop the fuel tank after disconnecting the EVAP, electrical and fuel lines (the supply line may be under pressure; cap all open lines, p4).
  2. Remove all control arms, tuck wiring looms and fuel lines out of the way, cut off the stock control arm brackets without cutting into the frame, and grind the surfaces smooth.
  3. Clamp the parts tight to the frame and tack weld around them, then weld the rear frame gussets, the rear brackets and the front brackets (indexed to the frame hole and the cross-member's longer bolts); avoid long vertical welds and paint the welds (p7). This kit requires structural welding.
  4. 2010-2011 models: cut out and reposition the large catalytic converter so the O2 sensor stays reachable and clears the new bracket, then rejoin the pipe with the 2.5" section moved to the front (p10).
  5. Refit the front shocks and install the long arms with new hardware at the frame brackets and the original hardware at the axle (rear uppers usually in the lower holes, rear lowers bends up and in); torque the cross-member bolts to 90 ft-lbs and the skid plate to 48 ft-lbs (p8).
  6. Refit the fuel tank (straps 30 ft-lbs) and drivelines on their marks (15 ft-lbs transfer case and rear, 81 ft-lbs front axle), then on the ground torque the track bars and lower and rear upper arms to 125 ft-lbs and the front uppers to 75 ft-lbs.
