Description & Fitment
This TeraFlex kit turns the CRD60 rear axle with 3.25" O.D. tubes on a 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Sport or Sahara, 2-door or Unlimited, into an 8-lug full-float axle and adds solid big rotors. Twin-bearing forged 4140 chromoly spindles carry the vehicle weight, so the case-hardened 4340 chromoly shafts only drive the wheels. The spindles take industry-standard bearings and seals, and the factory sensors, park brake, calipers and pads are retained. Full-float kits may not work with all wheels, so verify wheel fitment first.

Will my wheels fit?

Does it fit a factory Dana 44 rear or a Rubicon?
No. This kit is for a CRD60 rear axle with 3.25" O.D. tubes, and TeraFlex lists it for JK Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Sport and Sahara models only.
How do I pick the right part number?
Each listing names the axle, size, spline count, side and lift range TeraFlex lists for that part number. Match it to your Jeep and current setup, or send us your VIN and build details and we'll check before you order.
Who should install it?
TeraFlex recommends a certified mechanic. Follow the TeraFlex instructions for the part, and take any torque values from those instructions or your service manual.

Installation

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Raise and support the vehicle and axle, remove the wheels, drain the rear differential, disconnect the e-brake cable and remove the calipers, anchor brackets and rotors.
- Remove the wheel speed sensor without unplugging it, pull the old axle shaft, the backing plate assembly and the bearing race.
- Pack the tube with shop towels, drill a 1/2" hole on both sides about 1" from the flange, clean out all shavings and deburr, then tap the new spindle in until it seats and seal the joint with silicone.
- Refit the backing plate and spindle retainer with the longer M12 hardware at 45 ft-lbs, plug weld both drilled holes and reattach the e-brake cable.
- Pack the bearings with grease, fit the hub and outer bearing, seat the inner nut at 50 ft-lbs while turning the hub, back it off 90 degrees and align the pin with the lock washer; fit the outer nut at 160-205 ft-lbs.
- Install the shaft (7/16" bolts 95 ft-lbs criss-cross, silicone on the hub face), rotor and anchor bracket (blue thread locker, 55 ft-lbs), sensor, pads and caliper (26 ft-lbs), wheels at 135 ft-lbs, then refill and flood each hub by raising each side 6" for a minute (p8).

TeraFlex covers its axle assemblies and axle housings, axle shafts and full-float conversion kits for 1 year against defects in materials and workmanship.- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
- Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
- Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
- Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
