Description & Fitment
The TeraFlex Dana 30/44 High Steer Knuckle is the knuckle at the heart of TeraFlex's TJ high steer systems, for a 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or Wrangler Unlimited LJ with a Dana 30 or Rubicon Dana 44 front axle and 4" or more of lift. Cast from heavy-duty ductile iron and reinforced at stress points, it moves the steering up for clearance and restores geometry for highway driving. TeraFlex also lists 1994-1995 YJ, XJ Cherokee, ZJ Grand Cherokee and MJ Comanche Dana 30 axles, with added modifications. It is not a complete kit.

What isn't included?
TeraFlex says the HD drag link kit, HD tie rod kit, drop pitman arm, sway bar mount kit and sway bar links are not included. It may also need a front sway bar quick disconnect kit, a high steer track bar frame bracket kit and/or offset wheels.
Does it fit a YJ, XJ, ZJ or MJ?
TeraFlex lists 1994-1995 YJ Wrangler, XJ Cherokee, ZJ Grand Cherokee and MJ Comanche with a Dana 30 front axle, with additional modifications.
How long does install take?
TeraFlex estimates about 4-5 hours.
What warranty does TeraFlex give?

Installation
Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Raise and support the front axle so the tires are off the ground, remove the wheels, and measure the tie rod center to center at the knuckles; write the figure down to approximate toe-in on reassembly.
- Remove the tie rod and drag link. TeraFlex notes the kit is not all-inclusive: plan for sway bar link/mount and front track bar mount changes, update 1984-1991 Dana 30 calipers, rotors and possibly unibearings to the later design, and use wheel spacers or wheels with 3.5" or less backspacing.
- Passenger side: remove the two brake caliper bolts, the caliper and rotor, then the three wheel bearing bolts and pull the unibearing/axle shaft assembly (stuff a rag in the tube if it starts to leak); remove the top and bottom ball joint nuts and take off the knuckle.
- Fit the TeraFlex high steer knuckle, torquing the ball joint nuts as specified in the Jeep service manual, then reinstall the hub assembly, axle shaft, rotor, caliper and brake pads.
- Install the new tie rod set to the length measured at the start, and the drag link from knuckle to pitman arm with a 9/16 flat washer under the castle nut; check every bolt and nut for proper torque and fit cotter pins where required.
- Reinstall the wheels, lower the Jeep and have the front-end alignment checked at a shop experienced with 4WD vehicles; check all bolts and jam nuts after 500 miles. The sway bar mounts (and on some Jeeps the track bar) need the modifications described in the sheet.

TeraFlex covers ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends and drag links for life against defects in materials and workmanship, and paint and powder coat finishes for 90 days (defects only).- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
- Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
- Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
- Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
