Description & Fitment
The TeraFlex Dana 30/44 High Steer System addresses the steering problems of a lifted 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or Wrangler Unlimited LJ with 4"-6" of lift. It combines the TeraFlex High Steer Knuckle (4828490), High Steer HD Aluminum Drag Link Kit (4920244) and High Steer HD Aluminum Tie Rod Kit (4920251), moving the steering up for ground clearance and correcting geometry for better highway driving. Run it as cross steering or flip the drag link over the knuckle to fight shimmy and bump steer. It is not all-inclusive: the drop pitman arm, sway bar mounts, quick disconnects and stabilizer mount are sold separately.

What else might I need?
TeraFlex says it may need the High Steer HD Adjustable Front Track Bar & Bracket Kit (4923200), a front sway bar quick disconnect kit and/or offset wheels, plus the drop pitman arm, sway bar mounts and stabilizer mount, which are not included.
Does it fit an XJ, ZJ or MJ?
TeraFlex says it also fits the XJ Cherokee, ZJ Grand Cherokee and MJ Comanche with a Dana 30 front axle, with additional modifications.
How long does install take?
TeraFlex estimates about 4-5 hours.
What warranty does TeraFlex give?
TeraFlex covers its ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends and drag links for life against defects in materials and workmanship, and paint and powder coat finishes for 90 days. For knuckles, pitman arms, clamps and skid plates, contact us and we'll confirm the term before you order.

Installation
Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Raise and support the front axle so the tires are off the ground, remove the wheels, and measure the tie rod center to center at the knuckles; write the figure down to approximate toe-in on reassembly.
- Remove the tie rod and drag link. TeraFlex notes the kit is not all-inclusive: plan for sway bar link/mount and front track bar mount changes, update 1984-1991 Dana 30 calipers, rotors and possibly unibearings to the later design, and use wheel spacers or wheels with 3.5" or less backspacing.
- Passenger side: remove the two brake caliper bolts, the caliper and rotor, then the three wheel bearing bolts and pull the unibearing/axle shaft assembly (stuff a rag in the tube if it starts to leak); remove the top and bottom ball joint nuts and take off the knuckle.
- Fit the TeraFlex high steer knuckle, torquing the ball joint nuts as specified in the Jeep service manual, then reinstall the hub assembly, axle shaft, rotor, caliper and brake pads.
- Install the new tie rod set to the length measured at the start, and the drag link from knuckle to pitman arm with a 9/16 flat washer under the castle nut; check every bolt and nut for proper torque and fit cotter pins where required.
- Reinstall the wheels, lower the Jeep and have the front-end alignment checked at a shop experienced with 4WD vehicles; check all bolts and jam nuts after 500 miles. The sway bar mounts (and on some Jeeps the track bar) need the modifications described in the sheet.

TeraFlex covers ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends and drag links for life against defects in materials and workmanship, and paint and powder coat finishes for 90 days (defects only).- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
- Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
- Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
- Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
