Description & Fitment
The TeraFlex HD Forged Drag Link Kit replaces factory steering parts that bend and fail on a lifted 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK or JK Unlimited with a 0-3" lift. The 1.25" OD fully forged drag link is rated 50% stiffer than factory and uses a DOM factory-style adjusting collar for simple adjustment. Its joint has a 4140 chromoly ball stud, a 1045 carbon steel housing and adjustable preload for long-term durability. Order it alone, or as 1853900 with the HD Chromoly Tie Rod Kit and its 1-5/8" 4140 chromoly tie rod added.

What is the difference between the two versions?
1853900 is the HD Forged Drag Link Kit plus the HD Chromoly Tie Rod Kit. 1853920 is the drag link kit only.
Does it work with my steering stabilizer?
The tie rod kit's stabilizer relocation bracket does not work with Falcon Nexus EF stabilizers; TeraFlex says the Falcon 1-5/8" Steering Stabilizer Tie Rod Clamp Kit (99-01-01-158) is required.
How long does install take?
TeraFlex estimates about 1.5 hours.
What warranty does TeraFlex give?
TeraFlex covers its ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends and drag links for life against defects in materials and workmanship, and paint and powder coat finishes for 90 days. For knuckles, pitman arms, clamps and skid plates, contact us and we'll confirm the term before you order.

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Chock the rear wheels, raise and support the front of the Jeep at the axle, remove the front wheels and the steering stabilizer (18mm).
- Loosen the drag link nuts (and, with 1853900, the tie rod nuts) without removing them (21mm), strike the knuckle castings around the studs with a large hammer until the links come free (a tie rod end puller is suggested at the pitman arm end to protect the steering box), then remove the nuts and the factory drag link (and tie rod with 1853900).
- Prepare the new drag link (and tie rod with 1853900) by fitting a #344407 dust boot retaining spring on each dust boot; the spare O-rings are for later maintenance.
- Measure the factory drag link (and tie rod) center to center, set the new assemblies to match as closely as possible, install them and torque the nuts to 63 ft-lbs; refit the wheels.
- With the ball joints in a neutral position, tighten the pinch clamps and jam nuts; with the tires straight, center the steering wheel by turning the drag link adjusting collar and torque the pinch clamp bolts to 45 ft-lbs.
- Grease the ball joints and fit the #344408 grease zerk dust covers (ball joint preload is set to 90 in-lbs with the supplied tool 1344000, p7); TeraFlex highly recommends a professional alignment.

TeraFlex covers ball joints, tie rods, tie rod ends and drag links for life against defects in materials and workmanship, and paint and powder coat finishes for 90 days (defects only).- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
- Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
- Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
- Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
