Description & Fitment

This is the long-wheelbase version of TeraFlex's Pro LCG Long Arm Suspension System for Coilover Setup, made for the 2004-2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ (not Rubicon models). You get TeraFlex's full front and rear adjustable LCG long control arm system with brackets, and a rear triangulated 4-link with axle truss that does away with the rear track bar. The system is designed for coilovers, which TeraFlex says must be bought from the aftermarket along with their mounts. Fitting the brackets means cutting and welding.

About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit a short-wheelbase TJ?

No. This is the LJ Unlimited version; the TJ version is 1149075. TeraFlex also says it is not compatible with Rubicon models.

Does it come with coilovers?

No. Coilovers and their mounts must be purchased separately.

What does the install involve?

Cutting off the factory control arm brackets and welding in the LCG brackets. You'll also need wheels with 4.5" backspacing or less, or TeraFlex 1005200 offset wheel adapters with stock wheels. Lifts of 4" and up need a CV-style driveshaft and a TeraFlex short shaft slip yoke eliminator kit (4444400 or 4444401).

What warranty does TeraFlex give?

TeraFlex covers its control arms, IR bushings and long arm brackets for life against defects in materials and workmanship. Non-IR control arm bushings carry 1 year and finishes 90 days. Contact us with your order details to confirm coverage on any other part or to start a claim.

How quickly does it ship?

Shipping is free to the lower 48 states, and most orders arrive within 1-5 business days. We email your tracking number as soon as it ships.

Can you confirm it's right for my Jeep before I order?

Yes. Contact us with your VIN or year, model and trim, plus your current lift, and we'll check it against TeraFlex's fitment information before it ships.

Installation

What's involvedRemove all control arms and the exhaust, cut off the factory arm mounts and weld on the new frame brackets and rear axle truss. Fit the new arms, springs and bump stops, drill the front spring pads and have a new muffler and tailpipe built.

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Support the TJ under the frame so the axles fully droop, remove the tires, shocks, sway bar links, coil springs and all control arms, support the transmission and remove the transfer case skid plate.
  2. Mark and cut the exhaust header pipe at the patch location and remove the rest of the exhaust (protect the oxygen sensors), then remove the front upper, front lower and rear lower control arm mounts from the frame. The muffler must be replaced with a smaller one and the tailpipe rerouted.
  3. Bolt in the Belly Up skid plate (or modify the factory skid for arm clearance) and mount the transmission to it; have the rear axle truss professionally welded to clean axle tubes, resealing the diff cover.
  4. Fit the rear upper arm frame brackets, the new rear arms and springs, the extended brake hose and sway bar links with the brake tee on the truss (p4); the rear track bar is eliminated.
  5. Front: grind the paint, weld the upper PRO brackets inside the frame rails, fit the upper arms set to about 24-1/2" and the new lowers; the 4" kit uses the adjustable track bar in the stock brackets, the 5" kit welds on a new track bar bracket (p5).
  6. Drill (or drill and tap 3/8-16 where a plate is welded on) the front spring pads, fit the LCG springs with the aluminum bump stop spacers and the bump stops, then have an exhaust shop build the new muffler and tailpipe and weld in the front exhaust patch.
