Description & Fitment

TeraFlex Pro LCG Long Control Arms, Front Upper, are the adjustable long front upper arms for a 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or Wrangler Unlimited LJ with 3"-5" of lift. Order the kit (1613801) or one arm for either side (1649839, sold individually). TeraFlex builds the front uppers from 1.25" x 0.25" wall DOM tube. They mount on the Pro LCG front upper frame brackets, which are not included; the complete arm and bracket kit is 1443470.

1649839 fits the driver or passenger front upper position; it is one arm, sold individually.

Yes. TeraFlex lists the front upper Pro LCG arm for the TJ Wrangler and LJ Wrangler Unlimited.

Installation

Install time 2 hours
What's involvedSet each FlexArm to its starting length, bolt it in with the grease zerk end toward the frame and grease it, then fine-tune the length for caster (front) or pinion angle (rear) and torque the control arm bolts.

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Check the arm length before fitting: the arms leave the factory at stock length, and the sheet lists suggested starting lengths per position (for example 15-1/8" for front uppers, 13-1/4" for rear uppers); never go more than 3/4" from factory length.
  2. Install each Flex Arm with the grease zerk end toward the frame and the zerk facing up, out of harm's way.
  3. Grease the arm through its zerks before driving.
  4. Fine-tune length if needed: front arms adjust caster, rear arms adjust pinion angle.
  5. Retorque the lower control arm bolts to 130-145 ft-lbs and the upper arm bolts to 37-47 ft-lbs.
  6. Grease the arms at least monthly, and before and after every trip with heavy off-road use; skipping it voids the TeraFlex warranty.

  • Warranty

    TeraFlex covers its control arms and IR bushings for life against defects in materials and workmanship. Alpine control arm bushings other than IR carry 1 year, and paint and powder coat finishes 90 days (defects only).
    • TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
    • Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
    • For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
    • Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
    • Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
    • Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
