Description & Fitment
TeraFlex SpeedBump Bump Stop Kits for the 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ Unlimited with 4"-6" of lift: choose the 4"-stroke front kit (1958700) or the 3"-stroke rear kit (1958720). The composite stops give a progressive cushion when the suspension bottoms out, which TeraFlex says helps keep control and lowers the risk of a bent axle tube. They are weld-in: the front bracket replaces the factory jounce tube and bump stop bell, and the rear bracket replaces the factory rear upper spring bracket.

About TeraFlex
TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.
The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.
Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Installation
- Sockets
- Wrenches (13, 14, 15 and 17mm)
- 3/16" Allen wrench
- 2-5/8" hole saw
- Drill
- Die grinder
Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Front: lift the Jeep so the suspension fully droops, set it on jack stands, remove the wheels, unbolt the shocks at the axle (13mm) and lower the axle to remove the coil springs (also the sway bar links and track bar if the springs stay tight); the kit is designed for a TJ with 4"+ of lift (p1).
- Pull off the bump stop, remove the jounce cup (17mm) and spring isolator, mark the jounce tube 3/4" below its taper and cut it there with a cut-off wheel.
- Cut through both layers of the tube with the 2-5/8" hole saw (open it with a die grinder if needed), grind the tube flat, and tack, then fully weld the Speedbump bracket in place and paint the welds (p4).
- Fit the new spring isolator, smear silicon on the Speedbump, set it in the mount with the collar on top and tighten the pinch bolt with a 3/16" allen, then wipe off excess silicon.
- Drill the spring pad center with a 5/16" bit and tap it 3/8"-16 for the bump stop pads, choosing pad height for your shock length and tire size; refit the springs, shocks and any removed links and track bar.
- Rear: unbolt the shocks at the axle (15mm and 18mm), remove the spring, protect brake lines and wiring, cut off the old coil perch, grind the frame flush, position and mark the new perch so the Speedbump hits the spring perch center, then weld, paint and finish as in front (p6).
