Description & Fitment

TeraFlex's Suspension System for the 2-door 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK includes the parts needed to lift the Jeep, not just the springs. The 3" version uses four preset Sport Control Arms (front lower and rear upper), an HD Forged Adjustable Front Track Bar and a rear track bar bracket, built for weekend trails and the weekday commute. The 4" version steps up to a complete set of eight adjustable Alpine Short Control Arms with the same track bar and bracket, made for harder trails. Each comes with or without 9550 VSS Twin-Tube shocks, and 2007-2011 JKs need extended front brake lines (4353300).

About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit a 4-door JK Unlimited?

No. This is the 2-door system; the JK Unlimited versions are 1156224, 1156401, 1256224 and 1451401.

What's the difference between the 3" and 4" systems?

The 3" uses four preset Sport Control Arms; the 4" uses a full set of eight adjustable Alpine Short Control Arms, and TeraFlex recommends adding an adjustable rear track bar.

Will I need driveshaft or brake line changes?

TeraFlex says driveshaft modifications may be necessary (Rzeppa High Angle CV Kit 1744014), and 2007-2011 JKs need Extended Length Front Brake Lines (4353300).

What warranty does TeraFlex give?

TeraFlex covers its coil springs and 9550 VSS shocks for life against defects in materials and workmanship, and paint and powder coat finishes for 90 days. Contact us to confirm coverage on other parts of your kit or to start a claim.

How quickly does it ship?

Shipping is free to the lower 48 states, and most orders arrive within 1-5 business days. We email your tracking number as soon as it ships.

Can you confirm it's the right kit before I order?

Yes. Contact us with your VIN or year, model, doors and trim, plus your wheels, tires and any lift parts already fitted, and we'll check it against TeraFlex's fitment information before it ships.

Installation

Install time 8 hours
What's involvedRemove the exhaust skid, sway bar links, track bars and drivelines at the axles, then fit the new springs, shocks, links, control arms and track bars and space down the exhaust. Torque everything at ride height and center the steering.
Tools
  • Ratchets (1/4" and 1/2")
  • 1/4" drive sockets (5/16", 10mm and 7/16")
  • 1/2" drive sockets
  • Swivel sockets (18mm, 21mm and 3/4")
  • 12" extension
  • Allen wrenches (3/16" and 5mm)

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Lift the Jeep by the frame, remove the wheels, support the front axle, loosen (do not remove) all control arm bolts, remove the exhaust skid plate/cross member (not reused), front driveline at the axle and sway bar links, free the ABS lines and breather tube, then lower the axle and remove the springs.
  2. Fit the new front springs driver side first, rotating each until fully seated, and add the speedbumps or bump stop extensions your kit includes per their TeraFlex instructions.
  3. Install the front shocks (top nut 20 ft-lbs, lower bolt loose for the brake line anchor), the quick disconnect sway bar links (75 ft-lbs), the kit's front control arms and track bar, then the brake line anchors and the front driveline with thread locker at 15 ft-lbs (p6-p7).
  4. Loosen the Y-pipe clamp, chisel off the intermediate pipe's indexing stop, and fit the exhaust flange spacers (longer one on the passenger side) with the supplied bolts, checking alignment and clearance.
  5. Rear: support the axle, remove the shocks, track bar, sway bar links and driveline at the axle, free the breather and ABS lines, then fit the springs and upper and lower spring retainers (30 ft-lbs and 50 ft-lbs, p10), the kit's rear arms, the track bar bracket on its U-bolts (p11), bump stops and sway bar links at 75 ft-lbs (p12).
  6. With the Jeep at ride height torque all suspension and track bar bolts, check every component, center the steering with the drag link, and re-torque after the first 500 miles and every 3,000.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

TeraFlex covers its coil springs and its 9550 VSS shocks for life against defects in materials and workmanship, and paint and powder coat finishes for 90 days (defects only). TeraFlex's warranty list names no separate term for the coil spring spacers in the Gladiator 2.5" kit, so contact us if you need that term before ordering.
    • TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
    • Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
    • For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
    • Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
    • Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
    • Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
