- Spring brake and free spool: An automatic spring brake holds the load on the VR EVO 12-S, and the clutch free-spools the rope out by hand.

The Warn VR EVO 12-S (103255) is a 12-volt standard-duty recovery winch rated at 12,000 lb of line pull. It comes with 90' of 3/8" synthetic rope, a black hawse fairlead and a two-in-one remote that works wired or wireless. Warn calls the VR EVO line the hardest-working standard-duty winches it offers, rates it IP68 waterproof, and backs it with a limited lifetime mechanical and seven year electrical warranty. Vehicle fit comes from the Warn winch mount, carrier or winch-ready bumper it bolts to, sold separately.

Fit: universal winch. It needs a Warn winch mount, winch carrier or winch-ready bumper for your vehicle (sold separately) with a 10" x 4.5" four-bolt pattern.
Choose the right version: the VR EVO line comes as VR EVO 8 / 8-S (103250 / 103251) at 8,000 lb, VR EVO 10 / 10-S (103252 / 103253) at 10,000 lb, VR EVO 12 / 12-S (103254 / 103255) at 12,000 lb; the "-S" models carry synthetic rope and a hawse fairlead.

Fit comes from the mount. The VR EVO 12-S bolts to a Warn winch mount, winch carrier or winch-ready bumper made for your vehicle and drilled for its 10" x 4.5" four-bolt pattern. The mount is sold separately.
Synthetic or steel rope?
This is the synthetic-rope VR EVO 12-S with a hawse fairlead. The VR EVO 12 (103254) is the same capacity with steel rope and a roller fairlead.
Does it come with a mount?
No. Warn sells winch mounts, carriers and winch-ready bumpers separately; the mount for your vehicle is what fits the winch.
Is a remote included?
Yes. The VR EVO 12-S comes with a two-in-one remote that works wired or wireless, so you can run the winch on the cord or without it.
What does the line pull rating mean?
Warn rates line pull on the first layer of rope on the drum. Pull drops as more layers of rope build up, so use a snatch block for heavy recoveries.
