10,000 lb of Single-Line Pull The XD 10-S is rated at 10,000 lb on the first drum layer, which is the right size for a mid-size truck, a full-size SUV, or a Jeep on 35s or 37s. Warn's own guidance is to run a winch rated at roughly 1.5 times your vehicle's loaded weight, so this model suits rigs in the 6,000 to 6,600 lb range with margin left for a stuck-in-the-mud pull.
Fastest Line Speed in Its Class A high-performance, high-efficiency motor paired to a 3-stage planetary geartrain gives a no-load line speed of 40 ft/min, dropping to 5 ft/min at the full 10,000 lb rating. Fast free-running speed is what shortens a recovery, because most of the drum time is spent taking up slack rather than pulling at capacity.
Sealed to IP68 and IP69K Automotive-grade O-ring sealing runs through the motor, geartrain and control pack, and the complete winch carries both an IP68 submersion rating and an IP69K high-pressure spray rating. That covers deep water crossings and it covers a pressure washer aimed straight at the drum after a mud run.
Full Metal Armor and OE-Grade Corrosion Protection Metal armor shields the gear end and control pack from rock strikes and trail debris instead of relying on plastic covers. The satin-black powder coat, black fasteners and UV-resistant bus bar covers are specified to 408 hours of salt spray, so the winch still looks and works right after a few winters of road salt.
100' of Spydura Synthetic Rope The 3/8" Spydura rope is lighter than steel cable, easier to handle with one hand, and it does not store energy the way a steel line does if it fails. Heat-resistant inner wraps protect it against brake heat coming off the drum, and the abrasion sleeve takes the damage where the rope drags over rock. A large-radius forged aluminum hawse fairlead keeps the entry angle gentle.
Wireless Control From Your Phone, Plus a Corded Remote The HUB wireless receiver is built into the control pack, so with the Warn HUB app you can operate the winch from over 100' away, from inside the cab or from wherever you can actually see the recovery. The ruggedized 12' corded remote is included as well, and it works whether or not you have your phone.
Albright Contactor and Bus Bar Wiring Warn uses an Albright contactor and automotive OE-grade bus bars in place of a conventional solenoid pack. It is the part of a winch that most often fails after a few seasons of wet and vibration, and it is the part Warn upgraded most on the XD.

Set the winch into the mount and torque the four bolts, fit the fairlead, then route the 2 gauge battery leads to the battery, keeping them clear of the exhaust and any moving steering or suspension components. Is the ZEON XD 10-S big enough for my truck?
Warn's rule of thumb is a winch rated at about 1.5 times your vehicle's loaded weight, so 10,000 lb covers rigs up to roughly 6,600 lb. That takes in mid-size trucks, full-size SUVs, built Jeeps and most half-ton pickups. If your half-ton runs heavy with a bumper, armor, a rooftop tent and gear, or if you are on a 3/4-ton, step up to the XD 12-S or 14-S.
Does it come with a mount?
No. Winches are sold separately from the mount because the mount is what makes the fit vehicle-specific. This winch uses the industry-standard 10" x 4.5" 4-bolt pattern, which is what nearly every aftermarket winch bumper, winch plate and hidden winch mount provides. Confirm your mount has room for a winch 23.89" long and 10.52" tall before ordering.
Why synthetic rope instead of steel cable?
Spydura is lighter, it floats, and it is far easier to handle with one hand when you are re-spooling in cold or mud. It also stores much less energy than steel, so if it ever parts it drops rather than whipping. The trade-off is that synthetic rope wants care: keep it clean, keep it out of prolonged UV when you can, and inspect the abrasion sleeve after rocky pulls. The rope is a wear item and is not covered by the warranty.
How fast is it, really?
40 ft/min with no load on the line, and 5 ft/min at the full 10,000 lb rating. Motor draw runs 64 amps free-spooling and 458 amps at rated pull, which is why Warn specifies a 650 CCA battery as the minimum and why you should have the engine running during a recovery.
Can I control it from inside the cab?
Yes. The HUB wireless receiver is built into the control pack on this model, so the Warn HUB app pairs to the winch and gives you control from over 100' away along with live status. The ruggedized 12' corded remote is in the box as well, so you are never dependent on a phone battery.
Is it actually waterproof, or just water-resistant?
Sealed. The whole unit, not just the motor, is rated IP68 for submersion and IP69K for high-pressure spray, achieved with automotive-grade O-ring seals. Warn also specifies 408 hours of salt spray for the finish and fasteners. Water crossings and pressure washing are both within design intent.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
