It is built on the same platform as the ZEON XD and shares its motor and geartrain, so it pulls 10,000 lb at 39.7 ft/min with no load on the line. What you are paying the difference for is control. The XP adds a smart wired remote and a built-in HUB wireless receiver that report live motor temperature, load and battery voltage while you work, so you find out the winch is getting hot before it stops rather than after. It adds a remote-activated clutch with a manual backup, which means you can drop into free spool without walking to the bumper and it re-engages automatically when you power in or out. And it adds dynamic drum and accent lighting that changes color with winch status, which is genuinely useful at night. Live Feedback While You Winch The XP's controls report motor temperature, line load and vehicle battery condition in real time, through the smart wired remote and through the Warn HUB app. On any other winch you are guessing: you find out the motor is heat-soaked when it slows down. Here you can see it building and pause before you cook it, which on a long self-recovery is the difference between a delay and a repair.
Class-Exclusive Remote-Activated Clutch Free spool without walking to the bumper. A button on the remote or in the app disengages the clutch, and it re-engages automatically as soon as you power the winch in or out. A manual clutch lever is still there as a backup. In deep water, deep mud, or on a slope you would rather not stand on, this is the feature people notice first.
Dynamic Status Lighting Drum and accent lights change color with winch status, and the wired remote's LED matches them. It reads at a glance from the driver's seat and it lights the working area at night, which is when most recoveries seem to happen.
The ZEON XD Motor and Geartrain The XP is built on the ZEON XD platform and shares its high-efficiency motor and 3-stage planetary geartrain, giving 39.7 ft/min with no load and 4.9 ft/min at the full 10,000 lb rating, with 64 amps of free-running draw and 458 amps at rated pull. The performance is proven; the control system is what is new.
Sealed to IP68 and IP69K Automotive-grade O-ring seals run through the motor, geartrain and control pack, and the complete winch carries an IP68 submersion rating and an IP69K high-pressure spray rating. The finish and fasteners are specified to OEM-grade corrosion resistance.
100' of Spydura Synthetic Rope, Epic Hook Included The 3/8" Spydura rope is lighter than steel, easy to handle one-handed, and safer if it ever parts. It runs over a large-radius forged black hawse fairlead, and unlike most winches in this class the kit includes Warn's black Epic hook with a hook strap rather than leaving you to buy one.
Aluminum Chassis and Outer Armor The XP wraps the geartrain and control pack in an aluminum chassis and outer armor, so the parts that get hit by rocks and road debris are the parts designed to take it.

Set the winch into the mount, torque the four bolts, fit the fairlead, then route the battery leads clear of the exhaust and any moving steering or suspension components. What do I get for the extra money over a ZEON XD 10-S?
The pulling hardware is the same platform, so not speed or capacity. You are buying control: live motor temperature, load and battery readouts on the remote and in the app, a clutch you can engage and release from the remote instead of walking to the bumper, dynamic status lighting, and Warn's Epic hook in the box. If you winch rarely and in daylight, the XD is the value pick. If you winch often, at night, or alone, the XP earns it.
How does the remote-activated clutch work?
Press the clutch button on the smart remote or in the HUB app and the winch drops into free spool so you can pull line out by hand. It re-engages automatically the moment you power the winch in or out. A manual clutch lever is still fitted as a backup, so a flat phone or a damaged remote does not strand you.
Is the wireless control included, or an add-on?
Included. The HUB wireless receiver is built into the control pack on the XP, not sold separately. Pair it to the Warn HUB app and you get control plus live status from over 100' away. The smart wired remote is in the box as well.
Is 10,000 lb enough for my truck?
Warn sizes winches at roughly 1.5 times the vehicle's loaded weight, so 10,000 lb suits rigs up to about 6,600 lb: mid-size trucks, full-size SUVs, built Jeeps and most half-ton pickups. A heavily loaded half-ton or anything bigger should be on the XP 12-S or 14-S.
How much rope does it come with?
100' of 3/8" Spydura synthetic with an abrasion sleeve, pre-spooled, plus the forged black hawse fairlead and the Epic hook. Note that some retailers list this SKU as an 80' kit; the two independent Warn spec tables we cross-checked, including Warn's European distributor listing, both give 9.5mm x 30m, which is 3/8" x 100'.
Will it fit behind a factory-look bumper?
Probably not. The XP is a full-height winch at 23.89" long and 10.52" tall, built for open winch bumpers and winch plates. For hidden or stubby-bumper installs, the low-profile ZEON XC line is the one designed for it, with the control pack sitting below the tie plate at 7.83" tall.

Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
