What The New ZEON XP Can Do

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Do I need 14,000 lb, or is the 12-S enough?

Go by loaded weight. Warn's rule is roughly 1.5 times what the vehicle actually weighs with gear aboard, so a 3/4-ton or 1-ton, or anything carrying a slide-in camper, belongs on the 14-S. A half-ton, even a well-built one, is properly served by the 12-S and will spool noticeably faster for less money.

Is it physically bigger than the other XP models?

No. It is 23.89" long and 10.52" tall on the same 10" x 4.5" bolt pattern as the XP 10-S and 12-S, because the extra capacity comes from gearing rather than a larger housing. It drops into the same mounts. What you should check is that your mount and frame attachment are rated for a 14,000 lb pull.

How fast is it?

26.1 ft/min with no load and 2.1 ft/min at the full 14,000 lb rating. High-capacity winches trade speed for pull. Free-running draw is 65 amps and rated-load draw is 482 amps, so the 650 CCA battery minimum and a running engine during recoveries are both important here.

What does the XP give me that the ZEON XD 14-S does not?

The same pull, with control. Live motor temperature, line load and battery voltage on the smart remote and in the app, a clutch you can work from the remote instead of walking to the bumper, dynamic status lighting, and Warn's Epic hook in the box. The XD 14-S is the value route to 14,000 lb; the XP is the one you buy if you use it.

Why 80' of rope rather than 100'?

Drum capacity and physics. The drum is 3.15" in diameter and 9.0" long across the ZEON line, and pulling power falls as rope stacks up in layers, so a longer line would give you outer wraps that pull noticeably less than the rating. If you need more reach, use a tree strap and a snatch block rather than more rope.

Is the wireless control included?

Yes. The HUB wireless receiver is built into the XP's control pack, and the smart wired remote with its 12' lead is in the box as well. Pair the HUB app for control and live status from over 100' away.
