The ATB A-AF41 is a trailer A-frame tongue box with angled sides and lid shaped to sit on the tongue. ATB builds it super heavy duty from bright aluminum diamond tread plate, .090 for the body and .100 for the lid. The single top-open lid lifts on self-powered gas springs and closes with a tamper-resistant stainless steel handle lock. The M3300F mounting kit comes standard.

How to choose: measure the width across your trailer tongue where the box will sit, the depth available front to back and the height clearance to the jack and coupler.

Sizes run from 14"H x 14"D x 30"W to 24"H x 16"D x 43"W; all are bright diamond tread plate.

How do I measure my trailer tongue?

Measure the open space on the A-frame in front of the trailer: the width across the tongue rails where the box will sit, the depth front to back and the height clearance to the jack and coupler. Compare with the sizes in the table.

Does it come with mounting hardware?

Yes. ATB includes the M3300F mounting kit as standard.

How thick is the aluminum?

ATB uses .090 aluminum diamond tread plate for the body and .100 for the lid.

What lock does it use?

A tamper-resistant stainless steel handle lock.

How should I care for the aluminum?

Wash it with mild soap and water to remove road salt and grime, and rinse the tread plate grooves.

What's involvedThe box sits on the trailer A-frame rails and fastens with six self-drilling screwsyou drill six 1/4" holes in the box bottom.

Here's the short version. Follow ATB's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact positions and hardware.

  1. Check all parts against the parts list and make sure there is room to mount the box.
  2. Set the box on the trailer A-frame to confirm the fit. The box is not predrilled.
  3. Outline both frame rails on the box bottom, remove the box and turn it upside down on a pad.
  4. Draw a center line between each pair of outline marks and mark three holes per side, one centered and two as far to the outside edges as possible; drill all six with a 1/4" bit.
  5. Apply a 3" rubber strip along each center line for the full box length.
  6. Set the box back on the A-frame and drive the six self-drilling screws with washers using a drill and nut setter.

    Check the box when the freight arrives, before the driver leaves: look over the lids, doors, corners and welds for dents, scratches or shipping damage. Note any damage on the delivery receipt and send us photos. Check it as soon as it arrives.
    • Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
    • If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
    • Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.
