Description & Fitment
The ATB M6000I hangs a 24"H x 24"D x 72"W box under a trailer from both sides of the I-beams. Steel hook plates bolt to the I-beams and carry cross beams that the box bolts to. The kit is .25 (1/4 gauge) powder-coated steel with Grade 8 hardware, rated 500 lbs. (-2B) or 1000 lbs. (-3B) max.

How to choose: pick the -2B (500 lbs. max) or -3B (1000 lbs. max) by the loaded weight of the box.
For a 72" wide box, ATB sets the outside brackets about 70" apart, so check the trailer I-beams give you that span.

Will it fit my trailer?
It mounts under trailers with I-beam cross members. ATB lists it for a 24"H x 24"D x 72"W box; check the space under the deck.
Do I have to drill the trailer?
Yes. Using the hook plates as a guide, you drill 1/2" holes through the trailer I-beam and 5/16" holes up through the box bottom, then touch up each hole with paint.
Which version do I need?
Pick by load: ATB rates the -2B at 500 lbs. max and the -3B at 1000 lbs. max.
How does it ship?

Installation

Here's the short version. Follow ATB's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact positions and hardware.
- Check all parts against the parts list and make sure there is room to mount the box.
- Hang two main mount hook plates back to back on the trailer I-beam with two 1/2" center bolts, four flat washers and two lock nuts. Repeat until all six pairs hang loosely and can still slide. For a 72" box, set the outside brackets about 70" apart.
- Bolt the main cross beams to the hook plates, then bolt the four bracket cross beams to the main cross beams.
- Slide the kit to position and tighten all bolts installed so far to 65-70 ft-lbs. Square the kit vertically and horizontally.
- Using the top predrilled holes in the hook plates as a guide, drill through the trailer I-beam with a 1/2" bit (six holes) and paint inside each hole.
- Install one 1/2" bolt, two flat washers and one lock nut per bracket and tighten to 65-70 ft-lbs.

Inspect on delivery
Check the box when the freight arrives, before the driver leaves: look over the lids, doors, corners and welds for dents, scratches or shipping damage. Note any damage on the delivery receipt and send us photos. Check it as soon as it arrives.- Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
- If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
- Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.
