Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

What fluids and how much can the 358-3-02 hold?

It holds up to 100 gallons of diesel fuel or non-flammable hydraulic fluid, one of the highest capacities in the line. Weather Guard labels it for diesel and hydraulic fluid only and warns against gasoline or any flammable liquid, which is unsafe in a vented steel transfer tank.

Can I use this as an auxiliary tank plumbed into my truck?

No. This is a transfer and storage tank, not a gasoline tank and not an auxiliary tank that plumbs into your truck's fuel system. It carries diesel in the bed and pumps it out to equipment or vehicles with a separate 12V transfer pump. Always confirm the fuel rules in your state before hauling and dispensing.

How is the rectangle tank different from an L-shape tank?

The 358-3-02 is a straight rectangular box rather than a stepped L, so it fits 100 gallons into a shorter 46" length but sits higher and takes more bed depth. An L-shape tank steps down to leave more open bed floor. Choose rectangle for maximum fuel in minimal length, L-shape for a lower profile with open bed behind it.

How is the tank mounted?

It bolts down through a steel bed plate using rubber isolation bushings that cushion it from bed vibration. Plan to drill a few mounting holes, seal them with zinc-rich primer, and follow the included Weather Guard instructions. Most installs take one to two hours with basic hand tools.

Is the tank durable and covered by a warranty?

Yes. It is made in the USA from 12-gauge steel with an overlapping edge design and a brite white ARMOR TUF powder coat that resists rust and chips, and it is backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Where is this tank made?

In the USA. Weather Guard builds its steel transfer tanks in the United States and backs them with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
