Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

What fluids can I put in this Weather Guard tank?

Diesel fuel and hydraulic fluid only. Weather Guard labels these steel transfer tanks for diesel use and warns against gasoline or any other flammable liquid, because those are not safe in a vented steel transfer tank. Keep it to diesel and non-flammable hydraulic fluid.

Is the 358-5-02 the same as the white 358-3-02?

Yes. Both are the 100 gallon rectangle steel transfer tank with the same baffled 12-gauge build, vented lockable cap and 2" pump port. The 358-5-02 is black ARMOR TUF and the 358-3-02 is brite white, so pick your finish.

Why choose the rectangle over an L-shape tank?

The rectangle 358-5-02 fits 100 gallons into a short 46" length, so it is the pick when you want the most fuel in the least bed length. An L-shape tank steps down to leave more open bed floor but runs longer. It comes down to whether you value maximum capacity or maximum open bed.

How is the tank mounted?

It bolts down through a steel bed plate using rubber isolation bushings that cushion it from bed vibration. Plan to drill a few mounting holes, seal them with zinc-rich primer, and follow the included Weather Guard instructions. Most installs take one to two hours with basic hand tools.

Is the tank durable and covered by a warranty?

Yes. It is made in the USA from 12-gauge steel with an overlapping edge design and a black ARMOR TUF powder coat that resists rust and chips, and it is backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Where is this tank made?

In the USA. Weather Guard builds its steel transfer tanks in the United States and backs them with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
