- 12-gauge steel panels: Heavy 12-gauge steel forms the front, bottom and back panels, and overlapping edge panels brace the corners. Weather Guard's spec sheet notes the slim 359 column tank does not need that reinforcement.
- Interior baffles: Welded baffles inside the tank break up fluid slosh on the road, which Weather Guard says adds years to the tank's life.
- Lockable vented cap: The filler cap vents so pressure cannot build up inside, and it locks to keep your fuel where you left it.
- 2" NPT pump bung: The pump opening is a standard 2" NPT thread, which Weather Guard says will take most transfer pumps.
- Rubber isolation bushings: Rubber bushings sit between the tank feet and the hold-down nuts to soak up road vibration before it reaches the tank.
- Drain port: A drain port low on the tank (1/4" or 3/8", depending on the model) makes routine flushing and maintenance simple.

Will it fit an F-250?
That truck is on our fitment list for this tank. Measure your bed floor against the 43" x 30" footprint before ordering, and plan around any tool box that will share the bed.
Can I run a tool box with it?
Yes, but plan the two together. The tank stands 26" tall on a 43" x 30" footprint, so measure what is left for the box; Weather Guard's sheet has you check the tool box fit before you drill.
What can I put in it?
Weather Guard says its transfer tanks are for diesel and hydraulic fluid only, meaning non-flammable fluids, and never for fueling aircraft. The tank and pump must be grounded against static, and the tank has to stay vented. Weather Guard adds that a tank may fall under state or provincial rules, and meeting them is the owner's responsibility.
Can I connect it to my truck's fuel system?
No. Weather Guard says these tanks are not designed as an auxiliary tank hooked into the vehicle's fuel system. Fill equipment from it with a transfer pump instead.
Does it come with a pump?
No. Weather Guard's contents list is the tank, the filler cap and a bolt kit with a 1/4" drain plug. The 2" NPT opening takes most pumps; Weather Guard says to seal the threads with pipe tape, not liquid pipe dope.
Do I have to drill my truck?
Yes. You mark the hole spots, lift the tank out and drill 9/16" holes through the bed floor for the mounting studs, using the floor spacers where a hole lands between low ribs. Check under the bed for fuel lines, brake lines and wiring first, and in an aluminum bed coat the holes with zinc-rich primer and use the plastic washer barrier from the bolt kit.

Here's the short version. Follow Weather Guard's install sheet (below) for the exact positions and hardware.
- Set the tank where you want it in the bed, clear of the bed edges, with the drain plug still reachable. Check the fit with any tool box going in beside it.
- Mark the hole locations, take the tank out, and drill 9/16" holes. Where a hole lands between the low floor ribs, use the floor spacers under the mounting angle.
- From the top, drop the mounting studs through the holes ("TRUCK BED SIDE" down) and lock each one from underneath with a fender washer and Nylock nut.
- Lower the tank feet over the studs and secure them with the bushing, fender washer and Nylock nut on top.
- Wrap the filler neck threads with pipe tape (not liquid pipe dope) before fitting the filler cap. Ground the tank and pump against static.
- Model 359: set the blind fasteners at the marked spots, checking first for wiring, air bags and sensor wires.

Weather Guard backs this tank with its Limited Lifetime Warranty, issued by Werner Co.: the tank is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for its expected lifetime, counted from the day you buy it.- Only the original purchaser is covered, and coverage ends if the tank passes to a new owner.
- Every claim needs a copy of the original sales receipt, so keep your Prestige Truck order receipt with your records.
- Werner Co. picks the remedy: it repairs the faulty part or replaces the whole tank at no charge for parts or labor, or it may refund what you paid or issue a credit toward a new Weather Guard product.
- Not covered: normal wear and tear, cosmetic rust, scratches, accident damage, repairs Werner Co. did not authorize, misuse, overloading, or a tank that was not mounted or used as Weather Guard's written instructions describe. Damage to the fuel or fluid in the tank or to the vehicle is excluded too.
- Where the law allows, Werner Co. accepts no liability for incidental, special, indirect or consequential damages, economic loss included. This is the only express warranty on Weather Guard products, and no dealer can change it.

Inspect on delivery
Before the tank is bolted in, look over the welds and powder coat for shipping damage and check that the filler cap, drain plug and bolt kit are in the carton. Check it as soon as it arrives.- Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
- If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
- Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.

Great Transfer Tank
I have had weather guard fuel tanks in several different trucks, and I will not be purchasing a different brand anytime soon. They still look great over time and haven't had a single one leak or damage very easily. Great product!

Great so far.
Working great so far. Installed in a truck last weekend and used it to fuel up equipment on a jobsite. Note that if you have a goosneck trailer in a standard (not long) bed this will be super tight. I have 2017 F350 Super Duty that I put it in with a standard bed. If you have a truck saddle box and a gooseneck the saddle box can't be wider than about 17 inches or it won't work with the gooseneck. We tried a standard 20 inch saddle box I already had and it would not work. Had I known that I might have just got a vertical box that was a little smaller fuel capacity.
