- Drop Steps Closer to the Ground: Instead of a straight tube, the HDX Drop sets its step areas down below the bar, so the first step into a lifted or tall cab is shorter. Each step area is a heavy-duty punch plate that Westin builds for high traction.
- Solid One-Piece Construction: Each side is one solid piece with the drop steps built in, not a bar with bolt-on pads. The bar sits tight to the rocker panel for a solid fit, and Westin notes the steel construction helps protect the rocker panels from damage.
- Heavy-Duty Steel Design: Westin's notched bar design gives more than 2" of extra toe and heel room on each step compared with competing bars, so the steps are easier to use even in work boots. Each cab-length bar is textured black painted stainless steel with stainless step pads, which Westin rates as rust resistant with maximum traction. Westin lists the install as bolt-on with no drilling, and a mount kit is included. Stainless HDX Drop bars carry Westin's 5-year limited warranty.

- Westin's terms exclude road-hazard damage (gravel, debris), misuse, improper installation, accidents, modifications and neglect; the remedy is repair or replacement.
