- Full-Length R5 Step Pad: An injection-molded polymer step pad runs along the top of each bar, giving boots a textured, skid-resistant surface from end to end. Westin sells replacement R5 pad kits in 30.5" and 20.5" lengths, so a worn pad can be swapped instead of the whole bar.
- Rocker Panel Protection: Westin lists rocker panel protection among the R5 features. Each bar mounts along the rocker panel under the doors, where it sits between the panel and road debris, curbs and trail obstacles to help guard the paint and sheet metal from potential damage. - Vehicle-Specific Mounting Brackets: Every R5 kit includes a mount kit made for the listed truck. The brackets bolt to the rocker panel area, and the triangular board shape hides them from view once the bars are on.

The Westin R5 XD drops the step surface 3" lower than a standard R5, which helps on a tall Ram Crew Cab. This polished 304 stainless steel kit fits the 2009-2018 Ram 1500, the 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic and the 2010-2027 Ram 2500 and 3500. You get the 5" wide step with an oversized molded pad, driver and passenger bars and a vehicle-specific mount kit with bracket covers.

Westin backs its R5 Nerf Step Bars with a lifetime warranty on the polished stainless steel bars and a 3-year warranty on the textured black bars, for the original purchaser, against manufacturer defects in materials, workmanship and finish under normal use.- The term follows the finish of the part number you buy, shown in Specifications.
- Westin's terms exclude road-hazard damage (gravel, debris), misuse, improper installation, accidents, modifications and neglect; the remedy is repair or replacement.
- For a claim, contact us with your order number and photos and we will work it through with Westin.
