- 1-1/2" diameter tube frame: The frame is formed from 1-1/2" diameter steel tube, shaped to the front end of the vehicle it is made for.
- Driving light mounting holes: Mounting holes for driving lights come built in, so you can add a pair of Westin driving lights (sold separately) for a custom look.
Description & Fitment
This Sportsman Grille Guard fits the 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the 2000-2006 Suburban 1500 and Tahoe, covering the GMT800 front end in black tubing. Its fully welded one-piece frame is bent from 1-1/2" steel tube to match this front end. Driving light mounting holes are ready for a pair of Westin lights (sold separately), and the headlight cross bars are removable for headlight service. The vehicle-specific mounting kit is included and Westin calls the install no-drill.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does 40-0185 fit a 2004 Silverado 1500?
No. Westin lists the Silverado 1500 for 1999-2002 only. The Suburban 1500 and Tahoe are listed through 2006.
Do I need to drill to install it?
No. Westin describes the Sportsman Grille Guard as a no-drill installation using the vehicle-specific mounting kit that comes with it.
Can I still service my headlights?
Yes. The headlight area cross bars are removable, so you can get to the headlights for maintenance.
Can I mount lights on it?
Yes. The guard has driving light mounting holes. Lights are sold separately.
What is it made of?
Steel tube, 1-1/2" in diameter, fully welded into one piece and finished in black powder coat.
How is it different from the Sportsman X?
The Sportsman X is a separate Westin line with 1-5/8" outer tubing, plate-supported wings, an exterior step and a center light bar opening. The Sportsman Grille Guard is the one-piece 1-1/2" tube design.
