The Warn ZEON XC 10 is the steel-rope version of the low-profile XC: 10,000 lb of single-line pull, 80' of 3/8" steel wire rope and a steel roller fairlead, in a body only 22.06" long and 7.83" tall because the control pack tucks below the top of the tie plate. That compact envelope is what puts a genuine 10,000 lb winch behind a stubby bumper, a high-clearance bumper or a hidden mount where a full-height winch will not go. Underneath it is the same premium hardware as the rest of the family: a 3-stage planetary geartrain, a Warn-exclusive low-profile Albright contactor, an automatic six-segment cone brake, and IP68 and IP69K sealing throughout. Engineered, tested and assembled in Clackamas, Oregon.

Steel Wire Rope, for Work That Chews Line Up 80' of 3/8" steel wire rope over a steel roller fairlead. Steel tolerates being dragged across rock, gravel and mill yards in a way synthetic does not, it is unaffected by UV and grit, and it is cheaper to replace. The trade is weight and handling: always wear gloves, and never step over a loaded line.
10,000 lb in a 7.83" Tall Body Overall length 22.06", height 7.83", maximum front-to-back depth 6.73", because the control pack sits below the top of the tie plate instead of on the drum. That is the whole reason the XC exists: a full 10,000 lb winch that fits hidden mounts, stubby bumpers and high-clearance bumpers where a 10.52" tall winch fouls the grille or the crash bar.
Warn Publishes the Pull-by-Layer Numbers Rated 10,000 lb on the first drum layer, then 8,246 lb, 7,015 lb, 6,104 lb and 5,402 lb across layers two to five. Most brands quote the first number only. With steel rope stacking on the drum, knowing where your real capacity sits is worth more than the headline.
Roller Fairlead, Feet-Down or Feet-Forward The included steel roller fairlead is the correct pairing for wire rope: it guides the line under side load without the sharp bearing surface a hawse would present to steel. Like the rest of the XC fairleads, it works in both feet-down and feet-forward installs, so no separate offset fairlead is needed.
Mounting Flexibility Nothing Else Matches The remote socket relocates up to 9" from the control pack with no disassembly. The control pack can be moved off the winch entirely with Warn's relocation kits (PN 111872 for 31", PN 111991 for 78"). The motor rotates up to 90 degrees forward with the control pack following it, and the transmission clocks to five positions.
Sealed to IP68 and IP69K O-ring rubber sealing runs through the complete winch, rated IP68 for submersion and IP69K for high-pressure spray. Corrosion-resistant black fasteners and a satin-black powder coat are specified to 408 hours of salt spray, which matters on a truck that works through winters.
Automatic Load-Holding Cone Brake A six-segment mechanical cone brake holds the load automatically, giving controlled, stoppable movement partway through a pull rather than a winch you have to babysit.

Set the winch into the mount and torque the four bolts, fit the steel roller fairlead, then route the 2 gauge battery leads clear of the exhaust and any moving steering or suspension parts. Position the remote socket before you refit the bumper; it relocates up to 9" without disassembly. Wire rope needs one job the synthetic versions do not: before the first real pull, spool the line on under load so the bottom wraps bed down tightly, otherwise a loaded outer wrap will bury itself into loose layers underneath. Wear gloves whenever you handle steel line.

Steel rope or synthetic? How do I choose?
Steel wins where the line gets abused: dragged across rock, gravel, stumps and mill yards, left out in the sun, or replaced often on a working truck. Synthetic wins on handling and safety, because it is far lighter, easier to manage one-handed, and stores much less energy if it parts. This SKU is the steel version; the ZEON XC 10-S is the same winch with 100' of Spydura synthetic and a hawse fairlead.
Why a roller fairlead instead of a hawse?
Steel wire rope needs rollers. A flat hawse presents a sharp bearing edge that will damage wire rope under side load, so Warn pairs steel line with a four-roller steel fairlead. It is included. Check that your mount's fairlead opening is sized for a roller rather than a hawse before ordering.
How much does it actually pull with line on the drum?

Steel rope. This SKU ships at about 101 lb against roughly 76 lb for the ZEON XC 10-S with Spydura. The winch itself is identical; the difference is 80' of wire rope and a steel roller fairlead instead of synthetic line and an aluminum hawse.
Does it have wireless control?
No. The XC ships with a ruggedized corded remote on a 12' lead. Warn's HUB wireless receiver is integrated into the ZEON XD and ZEON XP control packs rather than the XC's low-profile pack.

Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
