This is the working truck's ZEON XC. Twelve thousand pounds of single-line pull, 80' of 3/8" steel wire rope and a steel roller fairlead, all inside a body 22.06" long and 7.83" tall because Warn moved the control pack below the top of the tie plate. Steel line is the right choice when the rope spends its life dragged over rock and gravel, sitting in the sun on a fleet truck, or being replaced on a schedule rather than treated as a consumable to baby. And the low-profile shape means the whole thing still tucks behind a stubby bumper, a high-clearance bumper or a hidden mount that a 10.52" tall winch cannot use. The hardware is the same premium set as the rest of the family: 3-stage planetary geartrain, Warn-exclusive low-profile Albright contactor, automatic six-segment cone brake, IP68 and IP69K sealing throughout, and a 408-hour salt-spray finish. Engineered, tested and assembled in Clackamas, Oregon.

Features
12,000 lb on Steel Line The capacity a loaded half-ton or a 3/4-ton wants, paired with 80' of 3/8" steel wire rope and a steel roller fairlead. Steel takes abrasion, UV and grit without complaint, and on a truck that works for a living it is cheaper to replace than synthetic. Handle it with gloves and never step over a loaded line.
Only 7.83" Tall Overall length 22.06", height 7.83", maximum front-to-back depth 6.73". The control pack sits below the top of the tie plate rather than on the drum, which is what lets a 12,000 lb winch go into hidden mounts, stubby bumpers and high-clearance bumpers where a full-height winch will not fit.
Warn Publishes the Pull-by-Layer Numbers Rated 12,000 lb on the first drum layer, then 9,895 lb, 8,418 lb, 7,325 lb and 6,483 lb across layers two to five. That curve matters with steel line, because wire rope stacks in tighter, more predictable layers and it is easy to forget how much capacity you have given away by pulling with the drum nearly full.
Roller Fairlead, Feet-Down or Feet-Forward The included steel roller fairlead is the correct pairing for wire rope: rollers guide the line under side load instead of presenting the sharp bearing edge a hawse would. Like every XC fairlead it works in both feet-down and feet-forward installs, so no separate offset fairlead is needed.
Mounting Flexibility Nothing Else Matches The remote socket relocates up to 9" from the control pack with no disassembly. The control pack can be moved off the winch entirely with Warn's relocation kits (PN 111872 for 31", PN 111991 for 78"). The motor rotates up to 90 degrees forward with the control pack following it, and the transmission clocks to five positions.
Sealed to IP68 and IP69K O-ring rubber sealing runs through the complete winch, rated IP68 for submersion and IP69K for high-pressure spray. Corrosion-resistant black fasteners and a satin-black powder coat are specified to 408 hours of salt spray.
Automatic Load-Holding Cone Brake A six-segment mechanical cone brake holds the load automatically, giving controlled, stoppable movement partway through a pull. At 12,000 lb on steel line, that control is what keeps a recovery orderly.

Fit guidance: This is a universal-fit winch, not a vehicle-specific kit. It uses the industry-standard 10" x 4.5" 4-bolt pattern and measures 22.06" long, 7.83" tall and 6.73" deep front to back. Warn's sizing guidance is roughly 1.5 times your vehicle's loaded weight, so 12,000 lb covers rigs up to about 8,000 lb. As with any steel-rope winch, confirm your bumper or mount takes a roller fairlead rather than a flat hawse. The mount is sold separately, and a fully concealed install may also need the optional control pack relocation kit.

Installation
Type: Bolt-in to a winch mount, plate or bumper with the standard 10" x 4.5" 4-bolt pattern; wiring direct to the battery · Time: About 1 to 2 hours · Tools: Metric socket set, torque wrench, battery terminal wrench, heavy gloves for handling the wire rope; a second person to lift the winch, it is about 101 lb in the box · Difficulty: Intermediate, DIY-friendly with basic electrical experience
Set the winch into the mount and torque the four bolts, fit the steel roller fairlead, then route the 2 gauge battery leads clear of the exhaust and any moving steering or suspension parts. Position the remote socket before you refit the bumper; it relocates up to 9" without disassembly. Wire rope wants one extra step the synthetic versions do not: spool the line on under load before the first real pull so the bottom wraps bed down tight, or a loaded outer wrap will bury itself into the loose layers underneath. At 488 amps of rated-load draw, confirm the battery meets the 650 CCA minimum. Wear gloves whenever you handle steel line.

About Warn
Warn Industries has been building vehicle recovery equipment since 1948, when the company's locking hub turned surplus military Jeeps into usable civilian vehicles. Winches followed, and for most of the last half-century a Warn winch has been the default answer on a truck bumper. Warn designs, tests and assembles its premium winches at its own ISO-quality facility in Clackamas, Oregon, and publishes real performance data, including line speed and motor current at every load point and pulling capacity at every drum layer, rather than a single headline number.
The ZEON XC is the compact member of that premium family. It is built on the ZEON XD foundation but reshaped around an all-new low-profile control box that sits below the winch tie plate, with a bus bar connection to the motor and a Warn-exclusive low-profile Albright contactor. The remote socket relocates up to 9" from the control pack without disassembly, the control pack itself can be moved off the winch entirely with Warn's relocation kits, the motor rotates up to 90 degrees forward, and the transmission clocks to five different positions. Warn offers the XC with steel rope, with Spydura synthetic rope, or as a bare drum, so you can match the line to the work. It carries a limited lifetime mechanical warranty and a seven-year electrical warranty through a global service network.
Prestige Truck is an authorized Warn dealer. Every winch we ship is new, factory-sealed, covered by the full Warn factory warranty, and supported by Warn's US-based service team and parts supply.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Is steel rope the right choice for me?
If the truck works for a living, probably yes. Steel handles being dragged over rock, gravel and stumps, it ignores UV and grit, and it is cheaper to replace on a schedule. If the winch is on a weekend rig and you value one-handed handling and a line that does not store dangerous energy if it parts, the ZEON XC 12-S with 80' of Spydura Pro synthetic is the same winch with the other line.
Why a roller fairlead rather than a hawse?
Wire rope needs rollers. A flat hawse presents a sharp bearing edge that damages steel line under side load, so Warn ships this SKU with a four-roller steel fairlead. Confirm your bumper or mount has a fairlead opening sized for a roller before ordering.
What does it pull with rope on the drum?
12,000 lb on the first layer, then 9,895 lb, 8,418 lb, 7,325 lb and 6,483 lb across layers two to five. Warn publishes the whole curve for this model. Spool out more line before a heavy pull so you are working closer to the drum, or add a snatch block.
Will it fit a hidden or stubby bumper?
That is what the XC is designed for: 22.06" long, 7.83" tall and 6.73" deep front to back, versus 10.52" for a full-height ZEON XD. Check the maximum winch dimensions your mount publishes, allow for a roller fairlead rather than a flat hawse, and consider the optional control pack relocation kit if the install is fully concealed.
Why does it weigh 101 lb when the synthetic version is around 78 lb?
The line and the fairlead. The winch itself is identical to the ZEON XC 12-S; this one carries 80' of steel wire rope and a steel roller fairlead instead of Spydura Pro and an aluminum hawse. Factor that into your mount and bumper load calculations.
Does it support Warn's HUB wireless app?
No. The XC ships with a ruggedized corded remote on a 12' lead. The HUB wireless receiver is built into the ZEON XD and ZEON XP control packs, not the XC's low-profile pack.

Look is great. 100 lbs
Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

A must have
I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.

The toolbox is nice. I
The toolbox is nice. I think Ill get a lot of years of service out of it. I like how the lid opens and the tie downs are a nice touch. It seems to be well built. And tough. Im pleased with my purchase and would buy another one.
