Twelve thousand pounds of pull in a winch that is only 7.83" tall is the trick the ZEON XC 12-S pulls off, and it is why this model ends up in so many full-size truck builds where the bumper has to keep its factory lines. Warn moved the entire control pack below the top of the tie plate, which drops the height by nearly three inches against a full-height ZEON XD without giving up the geartrain, the Albright contactor control, or the IP68 and IP69K sealing. What you get is a serious recovery winch for a loaded half-ton or a 3/4-ton that will actually fit behind a stubby, a high-clearance bumper or a hidden mount. It ships with 80' of 3/8" Spydura Pro synthetic rope on a large-diameter aluminum-alloy drum, Warn's Epic black anodized forged aluminum hawse fairlead, and a ruggedized corded remote on a 12' lead. Engineered, tested and assembled in Clackamas, Oregon.

Features
12,000 lb in a 7.83" Tall Package This is the combination that sells the XC. Twelve thousand pounds of single-line pull, in a winch 22.06" long, 7.83" tall and 6.73" deep front to back, because the control pack lives below the tie plate rather than on top of the drum. A full-height 12,000 lb winch stands 10.52" tall and simply will not fit the hidden and stubby-bumper installs this one drops into.
Warn Publishes the Pull-by-Layer Numbers Rated 12,000 lb on the first drum layer, then 9,895 lb on the second, 8,418 lb on the third, 7,325 lb on the fourth and 6,483 lb on the fifth. Most brands quote only the first number. Knowing the rest is what stops you attempting a 10,000 lb pull with the rope still wound tight on the drum.
Spydura Pro Rope With Heat-Resistant Wraps The 12-S steps up to Spydura Pro: 3/8" synthetic with an abrasion sleeve and heat-resistant inner wraps that shield the line from brake heat radiating off the drum on long, loaded pulls. It runs over Warn's Epic black anodized forged aluminum hawse fairlead, and the large-diameter aluminum-alloy drum with its patented rope anchor helps dissipate that heat in the first place.
Mounting Flexibility Nothing Else Matches The remote socket relocates up to 9" from the control pack with no disassembly. The control pack can be moved off the winch entirely with Warn's relocation kits (PN 111872 for 31", PN 111991 for 78"). The motor rotates up to 90 degrees forward with the control pack following it, and the transmission clocks to five positions. The XC fairleads also work feet-down or feet-forward, so no separate offset fairlead is needed.
Sealed to IP68 and IP69K O-ring rubber sealing runs through the complete winch, rated IP68 for submersion and IP69K for high-pressure spray. Corrosion-resistant black fasteners and a satin-black powder coat are specified to 408 hours of salt spray.
Low-Profile Albright Control The all-new low-profile control box carries a Warn-exclusive Albright contactor with bus bars feeding the motor directly. Warn shrank the package to fit under the tie plate without downgrading the part of a winch that fails first.
Automatic Load-Holding Cone Brake A six-segment mechanical cone brake holds the load automatically, giving controlled, stoppable movement partway through a pull. At 12,000 lb that control is the difference between managing a recovery and reacting to one.

Fit guidance: This is a universal-fit winch, not a vehicle-specific kit. It uses the industry-standard 10" x 4.5" 4-bolt pattern and measures 22.06" long, 7.83" tall and 6.73" deep front to back. Warn's sizing guidance is roughly 1.5 times your vehicle's loaded weight, so 12,000 lb covers rigs up to about 8,000 lb, which is where a loaded half-ton or a 3/4-ton sits. Check the maximum winch dimensions published by your specific mount before ordering, and note that a fully concealed install may also need the optional control pack relocation kit. The mount is sold separately.

Installation
Type: Bolt-in to a winch mount, plate or bumper with the standard 10" x 4.5" 4-bolt pattern; wiring direct to the battery · Time: About 1 to 2 hours · Tools: Metric socket set, torque wrench, battery terminal wrench; a second person to lift the winch into the mount · Difficulty: Intermediate, DIY-friendly with basic electrical experience
Set the winch into the mount and torque the four bolts, fit the Epic hawse fairlead, then route the 2 gauge battery leads clear of the exhaust and any moving steering or suspension parts. Decide where the remote socket will live before you refit the bumper: it relocates up to 9" from the control pack with no disassembly. For a fully hidden install, order the control pack relocation kit (PN 111872 for 31", PN 111991 for 78"). At 488 amps of rated-load draw, confirm the battery meets the 650 CCA minimum, then cycle the winch in and out under no load.

About Warn
Warn Industries has been building vehicle recovery equipment since 1948, when the company's locking hub turned surplus military Jeeps into usable civilian vehicles. Winches followed, and for most of the last half-century a Warn winch has been the default answer on a truck bumper. Warn designs, tests and assembles its premium winches at its own ISO-quality facility in Clackamas, Oregon, and publishes real performance data, including line speed and motor current at every load point and pulling capacity at every drum layer, rather than a single headline number.
The ZEON XC is the compact member of that premium family. It is built on the ZEON XD foundation but reshaped around an all-new low-profile control box that sits below the winch tie plate, with a bus bar connection to the motor and a Warn-exclusive low-profile Albright contactor. The remote socket relocates up to 9" from the control pack without disassembly, the control pack itself can be moved off the winch entirely with Warn's relocation kits, the motor rotates up to 90 degrees forward, and the transmission clocks to five different positions. That flexibility is why the XC ends up in the installs nothing else fits. It carries a limited lifetime mechanical warranty and a seven-year electrical warranty through a global service network.
Prestige Truck is an authorized Warn dealer. Every winch we ship is new, factory-sealed, covered by the full Warn factory warranty, and supported by Warn's US-based service team and parts supply.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
XC 12-S or XD 12-S? They both pull 12,000 lb.
Space is the deciding factor. The XC is 7.83" tall with the control pack below the tie plate; the XD is 10.52" tall with it on top. If you are running a hidden mount, a stubby or a high-clearance bumper, the XC is the one that fits. If you have an open winch bumper with room, the XD adds HUB wireless control and full metal armor for a little more money.
How much can it really pull with rope on the drum?
Warn publishes the whole curve for this model: 12,000 lb on the first layer, 9,895 lb on the second, 8,418 lb on the third, 7,325 lb on the fourth and 6,483 lb on the fifth. Spool out more rope before a heavy pull so you are working closer to the drum, or add a snatch block to halve the line load.
What is Spydura Pro, and why this rope?
It is Warn's higher-spec synthetic line: the same 3/8" diameter and abrasion sleeve as standard Spydura, with heat-resistant inner wraps that protect it from the heat the cone brake puts into the drum during a long loaded pull. At 12,000 lb that heat is real, which is why the 12-S ships with Pro rather than standard rope.
Can the control pack be moved for a fully hidden install?
Yes. The remote socket alone relocates up to 9" with no disassembly, which is often enough. If the pack itself has to move, Warn sells relocation kits: PN 111872 gives 31" and PN 111991 gives 78". Both are separate purchases, so budget for one if the winch is going completely out of sight.
Does it work with wireless control?
Not out of the box. The XC ships with a ruggedized corded remote on a 12' lead. Warn's HUB wireless receiver is integrated into the ZEON XD and ZEON XP control packs, not the XC's low-profile pack. If phone control is a requirement, the XD 12-S is the model to look at.
Will the fairlead work if the winch mounts feet-forward?
Yes. Warn designed the XC fairleads to work in both feet-down and feet-forward orientations, so you do not need a separate offset fairlead the way some installs require. Combined with the 90-degree motor rotation and five transmission clocking positions, that is what makes the XC fit awkward mounts.

Look is great. 100 lbs
Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

A must have
I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.

The toolbox is nice. I
The toolbox is nice. I think Ill get a lot of years of service out of it. I like how the lid opens and the tie downs are a nice touch. It seems to be well built. And tough. Im pleased with my purchase and would buy another one.
