Perfect Toolbox

This toolbox has plenty of room. My only complaint is one of the weatherguard decals has come off and I’ve only had it about 8 months. Another decal on the front is about to fall off also.

Awesome room and quality

So far this is a great box. Only issue is that for my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, is that it touches the wheel wells, so I had to put a spacer in to raise it up. My spacer is 3/4", but only needed about 1/4'-3/8". I might try and find a thinner spacer to maximize rear window view. In order to close it completely to latch both sides you do need to walk around and "click" it, or be in the bed to latch both side completely for a weathertight seal. Everything else is sooo smooth, and durable.

Great, well built toolbox! I’m in the land clearing and site work business, so I carry as many tools that I might need as I can. My old, standard sized toolbox allowed for a lot of it, but it was so disorganized and cluttered that it took me longer to find something than it did to fix it. This toolbox resolved that issue for me and allows me to carry it all and in an organized way. I love it!

Box is great, wide enough to hold plenty but shallow so things aren't buried and I can still slide long items underneath. A bit pricey but so is everything nowadays.....

Travel Ready!

Tough Tool Box

Let me tell y’all! This is one tough toolbox! I have had mine for 18 years. It is certainly well built. I did have to replace the struts at 15 years. I had it on my 2002 F250 Super Duty when I was clipped from behind and spun out and rolled over 3 times! The toolbox remained intact and closed with 400lbs of tools in it. The hook bolt anchors did break and release the toolbox. And even after the truck rolled on the toolbox it remained essentially undamaged.

Disappointed

117-52-02 on a 2017 F-350. Been using Weatherguard products for decades and very disappointed in this box. As other reviews have said you have to get into the bed and push this lid from the center to get this box to positively latch on both sides. Even with a 3rd step on my truck and stretching acoss the box and slamming it will not close the opposite latch.

Impressive - Well Built - Roomy easy Installation

Wide-sturdy- plenty of room for most of the tools needed on our jobs. If it doesn’t fit - it can ride in the bed of the pick up. The welds were some of the best we found on a toolbox. The only issues are: every once in awhile the lid wants to be a pain. I would suggest more braces in the lid to sturdy it up for easier closing and it could use a 2nd slide drawer.

Bought this a month ago. Had some issues with getting tray in but customer service was good. Had the smaller version for 12 years on last truck with only a minor problem after 8 years. Still made parts for it. It was stood on many a time. Tuff boxes and long lasting. Pays to buy quality. Hope this one does the same

So much room inside!

I bought this on sale so I got a great deal on the largest weatherguard truck box. Quality is so much better than Husky truck boxes. Only complaint is that the draw bolts are really tough to ratchet down. My shoulder is still sore two weeks later. due to the extreme angle you have to twist your body in order to reach inside to hold td he clip up against the body rail.

Toolbox

Box brackets very difficult to install due to locking nut being difficult to ratchet the bolt through. The sliding try inside will bang around when driving if you don't wire it to the side.

All around great choice for husband!

Husband absolutely loves it. Lots of room and the compartments are great. The tie downs attched are convenient for tarping. Hisband loves that the box has prefab holes for wiring.

Bought many truck toolboxes over the years and only seem to last a few years before something fails like weather striping to hinges and locks. Finally decided to buy a Weathrguard and couldnt be happier. Went with the larger toolbox and not only is it constructed great but the room inside is a plus. Big Boy Box!

Finally went with the bigger box glad I did.Get a lot of tools in it,fit my chop saw and a couple of 5 gal.buckets. Liked the clamps that are used to attach box,had to tilt the bolt a bunch to work but after bolting it up tight it fit great. 16 Titan XD

Best box ever built. I have one I bought 25 yrs ago that's been on 2 trucks and is still in perfect working order. My new black one I just installed on my 2019 Silverado. I would never buy another brand but weatherguard.

Very solid built box

Love this box. The color looks great and is durable. The box is tough enough to stand on top of without it flexing. It stays water tight even when being pressure washed. Far better quality then the cheaper boxes. My only complaint with this box is that it doesn't always latch closed on both sides without walking to either side to push on the lid(it's a tight seal)

Second weather guard box. Diamond plate didn’t match my headache rack and it’s the only reason I changed it. They last forever.

Get a universal toolbox mounting kit

Impossible to install on a 2018 F-150 with supplied hardware. There is no room to get your hand under the box to hold the brackets. I purchased a gripe-right universal toolbox mounting kit to allow the installation. Consider an upgrade to your hardware. Otherwise, great addition.

Saved my truck from a Falling Tree! model 117-5-02

I had this toolbox on my truck, worth every penny i bought it for! always full of tools! I have went on a fishing trip, and parked at the gate fo the park to watin on it to open up, and a tree fell on it 8" in diameter, 25' long. totally destroyed the toolbox, but saved my truck from getting totaled. pretty amazed at the toughness of the toolbox. I will always have weathergaurd items when possible.

I’ve been using this comercially for years. It never leaks. This extra wide and extra deep model has great capacity. Thicker walls than the less expensive defender series. I raised mine with aluminum spacers to fit more long material in my truck bed beneath the box. Love the automotive style locks and latches

Got the tool box on sale as a black friday deal and it is one of the best tool boxes ive ever had. The quality is top notch and everything works flawlessly. Theres all kinds of room and it comes with a nice red tool tray thats mounts inside(not pictured) along with a clear plastic organizer box for smaller items. Id give it a 10/10

The best toolbox for the money

This is by far the best toolbox that I’ve owned. It’s light weight but really well built and has exellent locking latches. The push button feature is also very nice. I’ve had mine on my truck for over a year now and the powder coat finish still looking brand new. Overall it’s money well spent.

Nice box cheap locks and tray.

This is my 4th box of this model from weather guard and the quality has gone down. The locks are cheaper and the inner tray is alot cheaper, was very disappointed they cut corners on these 2 items other than that the box is still nice.

Nice box . Small issue with the latch, easy fix.

Nice well made toolbox. When I programmed the keys, the latch would not unlock. Figured out the latch pushrods needed to be shortened about 1/8” . After that, everything was good. No complaints.

I have owned numerous weatherguard boxes before and they all work well for the demanding professional or serious truck lover. 4 stars due to the fact that it takes some love to make it latch. havent had time to tinker with it but assume the gaskets are tight and latches need to be adjusted to make it work correctly..Well Worth The Money overall!
