Disappointed

117-52-02 on a 2017 F-350. Been using Weatherguard products for decades and very disappointed in this box. As other reviews have said you have to get into the bed and push this lid from the center to get this box to positively latch on both sides. Even with a 3rd step on my truck and stretching acoss the box and slamming it will not close the opposite latch.

I was supplied with a brand new Weather Guard 117-0-02 model tool box in 2001 by the excavating company I still work for. That box has been used daily on various construction sites for the last 20 years and been on 7 different trucks with only 2 lock and shock replacements to date. Although it has some fading from the weather exposure it is still to this day structurally sound and 100 % bone dry inside. I have seen literally thousands of tool boxes on pickup trucks on job sites in the last 27 years and there is absolutly no other brand that can hold up like a Weather Guard Aluminum cross box !

Have had box six weeks. Excellant product! No leaks even with the monsoon rain over the last month. A bit pricey but worth the cost. Best box I ever bought and I have owned all the alternatives over the years.

Well worth the money

Bought this for my husband for Christmas and I love the amount of room it has. It can fit all our hunting gear, tools, and more. It took less than 15 minutes to install, he attached a light so when you can see what’s in there, and you can unlock it from either side.

I purchased my first Weatherguard 117 box nearly 20 years ago and it is still in my truck today, even though its 3 trucks later. I have purchased 4 more of these boxes over the years for my employees. It maximizes storage, allows for mounting over several brands of ladder racks, and provides clearance underneath for full size sheets of material. It is easily accessible from both sides and provides solid, theft proof locks. I added tie-downs to my original one and I am glad to see tie-downs are a standard with the box now. I have owned several other brands and several other designs from Weatherguard. The Weatherguard 117 is by far the best box for most applications. The only downside I experienced was the time we owned a 5th wheel camper and I could turn sharp enough to hit the camper to the box, especially on uneven terrain. If this is the case for you, I recommend a low profile option…

This is my fourth knack product, my first aluminum box. I like it, light weight and secure. Has tie downs to secure loads from shifting. Just drove cross country on vacation, it secured my family's 4 pieces of luggage, beach towels umbrella, tools and misc we needed for trip.

So much better have it dealing with deliver to store than my house but did take almost a month

This is the best tool box i have ever owned. It has the most space and is very secure for all the tool i need on the road. It is strong and can hold a big guy up if you want to stand on it's big surface. It is the King of all tool boxes!

We were reluctant to spend money on a truck box, but it keeps so many tools and gear within reach, that it saved us multiple trips to the shop when we're out working. It is easy to use and the sliding drawer keeps little things from getting lost at the bottom.

Bought this box a week ago and am very much impressed with its versatility . Has great easy to access storage that is prostrated from thieves and weather . I only have two suggestions in which the company can do that would improve it to pure perfection . My box is installed in conjunction with a back rack . This has me pushing it further into the bed to allow the top to open . By doing this it creates a void which allows weater to enter the bed . I would suggest either modifying the top or sell a bolt on filler plate or crossbox to allow storage of long tools like a wrecker bar . This would aslso prevent weather from entering this void . The only other issues is when using in this configuration is you have to get a custom tonneau cover built . I would love a matching tri fold tonneau cover that can be easily removed if I need to utilize a goose neck or 5th wheel configuration . I’m…

Easy to install, I have a F350 and I can fit 4x8’s under this which is critical for me and work. Easy to bolt down and it’s not going anywhere. The locking mechanism is easy to use and allows me to not worry about my tools on sites or parking lots. Worth every penny!

Saved my truck from a Falling Tree! model 117-5-02

I had this toolbox on my truck, worth every penny i bought it for! always full of tools! I have went on a fishing trip, and parked at the gate fo the park to watin on it to open up, and a tree fell on it 8" in diameter, 25' long. totally destroyed the toolbox, but saved my truck from getting totaled. pretty amazed at the toughness of the toolbox. I will always have weathergaurd items when possible.

What a great tool box for my truck! Put it in a 2023 chevy 1500 to store all the stuff I need to carry gear for my guys onsite. Really really happy I got the extra wide box. It makes such a big difference. It's got some great weather seals that keep all my stuff dry. I even tried giving it a few deliberate sprays when washing the truck to test it and it stayed dry. The locks are great in that you can unlock one side (and leave the other locked) and open the tool box. They are also conveniently located so you don't have to get into the bed of the truck to open the box or lock/unlock it. When I need another box for new trucks I will definitely be getting another one of these. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I’ve been using this comercially for years. It never leaks. This extra wide and extra deep model has great capacity. Thicker walls than the less expensive defender series. I raised mine with aluminum spacers to fit more long material in my truck bed beneath the box. Love the automotive style locks and latches

Got the tool box on sale as a black friday deal and it is one of the best tool boxes ive ever had. The quality is top notch and everything works flawlessly. Theres all kinds of room and it comes with a nice red tool tray thats mounts inside(not pictured) along with a clear plastic organizer box for smaller items. Id give it a 10/10

Great, well built toolbox! I’m in the land clearing and site work business, so I carry as many tools that I might need as I can. My old, standard sized toolbox allowed for a lot of it, but it was so disorganized and cluttered that it took me longer to find something than it did to fix it. This toolbox resolved that issue for me and allows me to carry it all and in an organized way. I love it!

This is by far the best toolbox that I’ve owned. It’s light weight but really well built and has exellent locking latches. The push button feature is also very nice. I’ve had mine on my truck for over a year now and the powder coat finish still looking brand new. Overall it’s money well spent.

Nice box cheap locks and tray.

This is my 4th box of this model from weather guard and the quality has gone down. The locks are cheaper and the inner tray is alot cheaper, was very disappointed they cut corners on these 2 items other than that the box is still nice.

Nice box . Small issue with the latch, easy fix.

Nice well made toolbox. When I programmed the keys, the latch would not unlock. Figured out the latch pushrods needed to be shortened about 1/8” . After that, everything was good. No complaints.

Tool box is well built, heavy duty. I have owned numerous weatherguard boxes before and they all work well for the demanding professional or serious truck lover. 4 stars due to the fact that it takes some love to make it latch. havent had time to tinker with it but assume the gaskets are tight and latches need to be adjusted to make it work correctly..Well Worth The Money overall!
