New Tool Box

Love the new matte black and textured paint. Overall, good box, but not built like they use to be. You can see where Weather Guard has tried to save money compared to their older boxes. I really like the tackle box added feature. An issue I’m having is the front part box lid sits about a half inch higher than the rear of the lid and the latches are not adjustable. The slidable try started flaking paint before I even installed it into the box. It’s a good box, but not worth the money.

This has been and excellent truck box. Fits perfect in our GMC 3500. The Matte black also matches the trim really nicely.

This is a sturdy great looking tool box. Love the ease in which it opens for easy access. The workers at the Ukiah store were very helpful. They packed it out and put it on the truck before we bought it to make sure it was what we wanted

I bought this tool box A month ago and I hate the new lock system they have. It isn't like the old ones where the lock pushes in and is flush. Either someone tried to get in and broke off one side of it fell off

It’s doing it’s purpose with a classy style I like the color and size for my tools. A 1 to 2 inch shorter in depth would be nice for short bed to fit perfect b/c I had to do adjustments to my box.

I purchased this yesterday and installed it this morning. I know it’s expensive but I believe it’s worth the extra $$. I’m most impressed with the high quality look and feel! Opens and closes extremely easily. Looks beautiful on my 2021 black F-250 Super Duty! I’ll be purchasing the light and remote keyless entry accessories next. Can’t wait! I highly recommend this box.

bad quality

I just purchased this box. The opening side of the lid doesnt go down far enough( approximately 1/2 to 3/4 in). How can i adjust this? I tried to work wit them but No support. Should have never left factory this way. Will be returning

Weatherguard truck box

Replacing a 15 year old weatherguard that operated like brand new. Reason, purchased new vehicle and wanted a new box. Resold my old one for an excellent price, being it worked And looked like new. Just a little faded from the sun. Excellent boxes!

The tray is nice however the passenger side lockup to keep it from sliding back and forth isnt bent right so will not lock in on that side. Overall great box by far best ive had yet.

Super light can already tell it's gonna last!

Great box super light and durable. My son and I installed it really quick. Makes the truck really pop! I mean besides it looking amazing I carry alot of tools of different sizes and haven't had any problems finding room yet. In a hurry I can just pop it open which I like and the latch feels like quality. I dropped it when I was trying to install it, not even a dent!

Expensive, but well worth the money

More expensive than most. But well worth the money. Well built and one of the few that uses a flexible D-channel rubber seal as opposed to foam. I have a lot of faith that this will last me a long time and not leak. Can't say the same for the ones that use the foam to seal the lid/box.

Compared to other boxes the quality is too notch, very sturdy steel. A bit pricey but worth the extra $. Easy to install. Fits 4x4 Dodge Ram perfectly. Great locking mechanism and the black color blends nicely with my truck. You won't be disappointed.

Quality!

Great quality product. You have the set anchors, two keys and an accessories tray inside the box. You have a lock on both sides of the box which makes it great. Setting it inside the bed of the truck and getting it tightened down accordingly was easier than I expected. I couldn’t be happier with the quality and ease of installation, definitely recommend.

Not same quality as previous models

Quality is not the same as previous model. Toll tray has no dividers and doesn't have level holding brackets, plastic organizing box mounted box. locking mechanism not as well made and the key is huge. Not the same box as in the past.

Works and looks great. Much more expensive than standard toolbox but thr quality improvement is clear.

Great all around

Super happy with the tool box. Live in Colorado where it snows a lot and no issues with water inside or locks icing over. I can unlock it from either side, it comes with a sliding tray that you can lock in so it doesn’t slide around inside. Also You can register it with the weathergaurd company for warranty. Super great company and super useful watertight box.

I was really looking for a high quality low profile, extra deep toolbox for my 2018 GMC 35

I was really looking for a high quality low profile, extra deep toolbox for my 2018 GMC 3500 but wasn't able to find one that met my criteria and quality expectations. While not low profile, this toolbox is definitely high quality and I appreciate the ease with which you can lock and unlock. I'd buy it again even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

Well built truck toolbox that will last for many different trucks

Bought this tool box about a month ago and love it. Decided to spend the extra money on a weatherguard box and I am very happy I did. I went through many other brand of truck toolboxes. This box was built to last. I have it full of tools, straps, chains, hitches, etc. Well built box and looks great.

This is a great tool box. But if you have a GMC or Chevy with bed view camera the box will block the view.

This is a very good box. I would not hesitate to buy it again. It fits like a glove on my 2019 F150 and it comes with every to attach it to the truck. Very well made box!!

Iv had a lot of tool boxes, but this one is the best! This tool box is great! There’s so much room inside the box, which allows me to fit all my tools inside. Others may say the tool box is a bit pricey. But the tool box is worth every dollar! This tool box is way above its class!

This a great box. Very well built and worth the money. I would have to buy 2 or 3 less quality boxes over the lifetime of this single well built Box. I other boxes seem like the quality of a mailbox. I will likely go through 2 or 3 vehicles before I have to replace this product. As I can tell, I highly recommend the product.

Post Install Review

Read other reviews about the nuts and bolts of the mounting hardware not matching. Figured this was some kind of random mistake. Sure enough that is exactly what happened when I started installing this box. Ended up buying a 5/16-18 tap to re-tap the nuts that are attached to the hook part of the hardware. Also, when I use the passenger side latch to open the lid, it will not re-latch. The driver side latch has to be re-pressed, upon which there is a loud clunk, then the lid will re-latch. Read another review where someone had this same problem. Hopefully I can adjust the latches to get both of them working properly. Overall, the box does seem pretty solid, but I am somewhat disappointed that when you spend top dollar for an item, you run into a problem like this that should have been resolved at the factory. Those couple things aside, I am glad I went with the Weatherguard box. Though…

Very well designed

For once, the engineers listened to the user. This is a well designed truck toolbox. Easy to mount with the included hardware. Looks awesome-started getting questions and compliments the first day it was mounted! Sturdy integrated tie down points that are reinforced. Smooth operating hardware. A good stiff lid thats easy to latch from the side. And there are some great add ons that take it up another level-remote lid popper and automatic LED lights can easily be added. And all of the hardware comes powder coated red to match the box.

Great box, so-so lock function

Very well build toolbox, but locks are not awesome. I can't say enough about how well built the structure is, it's like a tank and I expect it will last me for quite a long time. There isn't anything to complain about as far as the box function goes. My only issue is the locks. When you get it the keys are there but the actual locks aren't set and you do this by turning the new key 3/4 of a turn which sets the pattern, which is nice since you can key any new boxes to the keys you currently have. My only issue is the locks are very sloppy and you can feel it grating inside when you turn the key. My passenger side lock is decent but the driver side lock is very catchy and I have concerns that it'll last very long (or cause the key to eventually break).

Good tool box. I have a bit larger one I bought years ago from same store, same brand that was a little more money but alot heavier Guage metal and just tougher. Would if liked to have that one again.

Inspect the product before leaving for any hidden damage Box is great just had some shipping damage to the lid it was easily removed using a dead blow hammer
