Every cover on this page fits the Chevy Colorado. Pick your year and bed in the selector to see the exact part: every 2023 and newer Colorado has the 5'2" bed, and 2015 to 2022 trucks have the 5'2" or 6'2".
Three Colorado generations share four bed lengths. There is no 2013 or 2014 model in the US: GM paused the truck after 2012 and brought it back for 2015.

Both newer generations have the same 61.7-inch short box, but every brand builds a separate part for 2023 and newer trucks, so match your model year as well as your bed.
The GMC Canyon shares these beds, and all but two Colorado parts here list the Canyon for the same years: UnderCover's 2024 to 2026 Elite and Elite LX list the Colorado alone. The MX4 install below was filmed on a 2024 Canyon.
StowFlex tailgate, sport bar and the ZR2 Bison
Chevy's StowFlex tailgate, offered from 2023 and standard on the ZR2, hides a lockable 45-inch bin inside the tailgate. Roll-N-Lock lists its 2023 to 2026 M-Series and M-Series XT as not compatible with GM's storage tailgate, so skip those two if your truck has the bin.
On 2015 to 2022 trucks, GM's sport bar changes the TruXedo part: the Lo Pro has a separate short-bed part for it, and the other Lo Pro parts and the Pro X15 TS are listed for trucks without one.
No series here has a separate ZR2, Trail Boss or Z71 part. The trim to check is the ZR2 Bison, new for 2024: its 35-inch spare stands upright in the bed on a factory carrier, so no cover can close while it rides there.
First-generation trucks have 11 series, mostly soft covers from TruXedo and Extang. The hard choices are the BAKFlip G2, UnderCover Flex, TruXedo Sentry and Sentry CT, plus the Pace Edwards JackRabbit retractable for the 6'1" bed.
Choosing a cover for the Colorado
On the Colorado's 61.7-inch short box, the floor a cover gives back counts. The BAKFlip MX4 ($1,199.99) folds against the cab to clear all of it and is rated for 400 lb closed. BAK's Revolver X2 ($1,299.99) and X4s ($1,399.99) roll onto a spool at the front wall rather than into a canister. A 2025 Z71 owner wrote of the MX4:
“The fit is snug and secure on our 2025 Chevy Colorado Z71.”

Retractables give up some of that floor to a canister at the front wall. Roll-N-Lock's is 7.25 inches deep, which leaves the M-Series ($1,699.99) about 54 inches of open floor on a Colorado short box.
For a bed rack, seven series that fit 2023 and newer trucks have T-slot rails, among them the BAKFlip MX4 TS ($1,449.99) and RetraxONE XR ($1,699.99), which fit the short box only. The TruXedo Pro X15 TS ($669.99) is the soft choice and the only railed cover for 2004 to 2012 trucks, but TruXedo's chart clears just five of the 19 racks and accessories on it. On the 6'2" long bed, the railed choices narrow to the Pro X15 TS, BAK Revolver X4 TS ($1,549.99), Roll-N-Lock M-Series XT and RetraxPRO XR.
Push-button covers split by generation: the Retrax PowerTraxPRO MX ($2,799.99) and PowerTraxPRO XR fit 2023 and newer trucks, and the Retrax EQ ($2,799.99) and Pace Edwards BedLocker fit 2015 to 2022 short beds. Nothing electric here fits the long bed or a first-generation truck.
The Extang Trifecta e-Series ($339.99) and TruXedo TruXport ($349.99) start the budget end and fit all three generations, but the Trifecta 2.0 stops at 2022. One-piece lids skip a year: UnderCover's LUX and SE end with 2022 and the Elite and painted Elite LX ($1,499.99) return for 2024, so no one-piece lid here fits a 2023 Colorado.
Brands we carry for the Colorado
Nine brands build covers for the Colorado, led by BAK with nine series and UnderCover with eight. This table picks one or more from each brand, with the Colorado years and beds each lists.
The TruXedo TruXport ($349.99) is the budget cover that lists all five Colorado beds since 2004, and every one of its parts comes in under $500. It rolls to the cab to open the whole bed, and TruXedo covers the vinyl and the hard parts for five years. Skip it if you want a lock: it latches at the tailgate but has no key, so a locked tailgate is all that guards the bed.
The BAK Revolver X2 ($1,299.99) locks along the full length of both rails, carries BAK's top Level-3 security rating and holds 400 lb closed. It fits 2015 to 2022 short and long beds plus 2023 to 2026 trucks, and it rolls onto a spool rather than into a canister, so the bed keeps its length. A 2015 Colorado owner reports the rolled-up X2 came through a loader bucket resting on it. Skip it if warranty length matters most: the X2 carries three years and the Revolver X4s five.
The RetraxPRO XR ($2,299.99) runs T-slot rails the length of the bed, rates its double-wall aluminum slats for 500 lb and has a limited lifetime warranty. It is one of four railed covers for the 2015 to 2022 long bed, and a 2023 ZR2 owner bought one to carry a rack. Skip it if you want every inch of floor, since the canister sits at the front wall. One 2025 Canyon owner on the shared 2023 to 2026 part found it sat an inch short of the tailgate and notched the side rails to move it back.
The Retrax PowerTraxPRO MX ($2,799.99) opens and closes from either of its two key fobs and stops and locks anywhere along the tracks. It fits 2023 to 2026 trucks, carries 500 lb on double-wall aluminum slats and has a three-year warranty. Skip it on a 2015 to 2022 truck: the Retrax EQ and Pace Edwards BedLocker cover those short beds, and no electric cover here fits the long bed.
Folds flat to the cab
The BAKFlip G2 ($1,099.99) folds against the cab to open the whole bed and rides closed, folded or flipped up. It lists every Colorado bed back to 2004.
Locks with the tailgate
Once the Roll-N-Lock M-Series ($1,699.99) is closed and latched, the tailgate cannot be dropped. A ratchet latch also locks the deck at three points along its travel, on 2015 to 2022 short and long beds.
Sits 3/4 inch above the rails
The TruXedo Lo Pro ($519.99) mounts its rails inside the bed to close 3/4 inch above the bed rail, and it has the only part here built for a 2015 to 2022 short bed with GM's sport bar.
Colorado tonneau cover FAQs
What bed length does my Colorado have?
Every 2023 and newer Colorado is a Crew Cab with the 5'2" short box. From 2015 to 2022, Extended Cabs have the 6'2" long box and Crew Cabs came with either. On 2004 to 2012 trucks, Crew Cabs have the 5 ft bed (5'1" here) while Regular and Extended Cabs have the 6 ft bed (6'1"). If you are unsure, measure the floor from the front wall to the closed tailgate: about 62 inches is the short box and 74 inches the long box.
Do covers work with the StowFlex tailgate?
Only Roll-N-Lock flags it. Its 2023 to 2026 M-Series and M-Series XT are listed as not compatible with the MultiStow tailgate, GMC's name for the same storage tailgate, so choose another cover if your truck has the bin. StowFlex is standard on the ZR2 and, for 2025, on every other trim but the WT. No other 2023 to 2026 part here carries a tailgate note.
Will a GMC Canyon or Silverado cover fit my Colorado?
A Canyon cover will, for the same years, because the two trucks share their beds and all but two Colorado parts here list the Canyon too. The exceptions are UnderCover's 2024 to 2026 Elite and Elite LX, which list the Colorado only. A Silverado or Sierra cover will not: no cover here lists both the Colorado and a full-size GM truck.
How long does a cover take to install on a Colorado?
Colorado and Canyon owners mostly report an hour or less. One Colorado owner fitted a RetraxPRO MX in about 45 minutes and another fitted a RetraxONE XR alone in an hour, and a 2023 Canyon owner did a Roll-N-Lock M-Series alone in an hour. Allow extra time for shims: a 2015 Colorado owner's BAKFlip F1 needed spacers, and a 2024 Canyon owner shimmed the Revolver X4 TS rails by 1/8 inch.
Will a tonneau cover keep my Colorado's bed dry?
Mostly, going by Colorado owners. A 2019 owner has noticed no leaks under a BAKFlip G2, and another owner says a RetraxONE XR kept the bed dry through rain and car washes. A different 2019 owner says some water gets past a BAKFlip F1, and a 2015 owner added foam at the front and tailgate corners of an F1 to seal it. Where water does get in, the drain tubes on the BAKFlip MX4 and Roll-N-Lock M-Series route it out of the bed.
